Unhappy Sad Story of My New G37S

So, I got a G37S, brand spanking new. I just broke her in and I went up north (I live in SoCal) and I was on my way home. The road was wide open, there was a pack of cars a mile or so ahead. Flat, straight road. What would anyone with a car like this do? Floor it. I have no idea how fast I got up to, probably around 120ish? I slowed down because I started to come up on the pack of cars. I saw a cop that had someone pulled over and my radar detector didn't go off. Wasn't too worried. Then out of nowhere this cop is up on my a$$. Yep. There was a cop up on an over-pass tagging people. I was pretty hung over, just a little sick though, nothing serious. I pulled over and I felt everything plus my stomach turn in circles and knotting up. The cop asked if I knew how fast I was going. I told him "Really really fast." He asked me to tell him how fast I was going. With all seriousness I said "Well I do believe there's a big difference in the number of how fast I got up to and where the other cop clocked me at." He got me at 111MPH. He told me if it was up to him he would've arrested me then. The cop that clocked me would've had to come down and arrest me and take me in and he wasn't about to move out of his nest.

While I was pulled over four other people got pulled over but they weren't going as fast as me

Any way, I'm never driving fast unless I KNOW there aren't any cops around, I hate NorCal, and my baby has to SIT for 6 months, and my car insurance is raping me.

The weekend before my license was officially suspended (April 9th) I went on a "last run" with my girlfriend. We were all over Decker Canyon and every other road in between Westlake and the PCH. We also went down to Venice one last time (it's a second home). I took some tight pictures that I will post if anyone cares. I didn't take any of my car though, just the canyons.

Officially, I am a douche-nozzle.

You should never drive fast if there's people and other cars around period.

Yes, I got this talk from my family. I'm barely 19 so I'm still learning that my life, along with others, can be over in a second. By the time I was close to the pack of cars, close enough for something horrible to happen, I was going the same speed as them. No excuse though.

Haha, well, yes you are.

For being only 19 though I think your attitude is good regarding the situation.

You know you're an idiot and are admitting that as well as admitting there was no excuse for it. I commend you for that at least.

You did get lucky though. Fortunately it's only the insurance that's raping you since you weren't taken to jail...

Hopefully this is an early lesson learned.

Quoted for truth. You look like you're at least taking it responsibly.

6 months suspension... they could have taken your car. you could have been in jail. your tire could pop and you could roll and kill yourself or someone else or both. all in all, you got off easy, but for the record, i did my fair share of stupid 100+ driving, you were just less lucky than some others.

Barely 19, pretty hung over and doing 120ish in a G37S.... I would've taken your *** to jail if it was up to me. You have a good attitude about the situation and I also commend you for it but I don't think any 18-19yr old needs to be driving a G37S.
