New G owner

So I just bought an 04 G35 AT/Trip, and started getting the mod itch. I am new to modding, and have been looking around online for parts to get it up to around 330+ hp. Here are a few of my findings, please post any suggestions.

First is the CAI: http://www.advancespeedshop.com/stag...92-p-4945.html- I've seen alot of posts about the Z-tube + Pop Charger. But this CAI says it gets up to +50hp (which sounds completely unbelievable). I plan on buying this soon.

Second is the 1/2" plenum spacer. I have also seen alot on this forum about the 5/16", but for only $50 more, I think the 2(ish) hp is worth it.

Next is the ECU: http://www.customstreetdesigns.com/4234-2340011.htm This one seems pretty good, but I'm not really sure what to look for when choosing a ECU.

Those are the 3 main things I want to get first. Later I plan on getting an oil cooler, Stillen Cat and headers, new pulleys and fly-wheel, lowering springs, and of course new wheels wrapped in some wider tires. I have already attempted to install a Ipod interface, which resulted in an extra $116 to reset the airbag light plus the money to have a professional install it when I realized It required an extra converter, because Infinitis have different antenna hookups. So, from that I understand that this car is going to be a bitch to work on. Once again, if ya'll have any suggestions on how I should spend whats left of my savings, they would be greatly appreciated.

BTW I am trying to build a car that will kick the **** out of my roomate's slightly modded 1988 Porsche 944 turbo.

You are going to be thoroughly disappointed if you expect much out of an intake mod on these cars.

Depends where you want the power.

I'd wait until you have more than just an intake and spacer. Maybe after headers, high flow cats/test pipes/ & a catback. But at this point, not worth it. I'd also look into Osiris.

btw, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the help. I have one more question... How hard is it to replace the headers on a G? Right now I am trying to do the easier mods, at least until the haynes manual comes out.

I have some strup headers I'm getting ready to have installed. I've been told these headers would take about 6 hours for a pro to install. Other headers don't have as much clearance and are said to take almost 10 hours to install. Definate PITA

I think thats the only thing I don't like about my G. Everything, no matter how simple it should be, seems to take almost twice as long. Older cars, with lots of room under the hood are much more "mod friendly". Thanks for the help guys, I think I'm gonna buy the intake with this next paycheck.
