New Owner - '06 G35 Coupe 6MT
My first post!
I am the new owner of a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6-Speed. I actually am waiting this car to be shipped from Orlando to Tennessee and won't expect it until sometime next week. The wait is frustrating! I owned a 2001 Honda Prelude for 5 years and it was time to sell it and upgrade to a newer car. It was hard to sell it due to the attachment and work I put into the car. After much searching I narrowed the choice down to the (2006-2007) G35 or a BMW M3 (2003-2005). I liked the fact the G was newer and less expensive and the ride was great. I ended up getting this one pictured below for $21,500 (+$199 dealer fee and $300 shipping) with 14,500 miles. It is a 6-speed (I believe it is called the 6MT model?), black with black interior and includes the premium and sport packages. The interior and exterior are apparently in 'excellent' condition.
So I have a lot of reading and research to do about this car. Where do I begin? What do I need to know right away?
Upgrades, Stereo:
I plan to upgrade the stereo with a double DIN GPS and ipod connector and perhaps all new speakers incl a subwoofer setup. And recommendations? I want to keep the dual climate control. I seems to be difficult to find kits that have this button plus have the same look as the 2005-2007 models. There also seem to be a lot of ancillary items I need to after dash mold to connect the antenna, connect the steering wheel controls, mounting kits, etc. Any reference to a thread or help would be appreciated.
Upgrades, Performance:
I also want some basic performance upgrades that may include the plenum spacer, cat-back exhaust, and a high-flow cat. Anything else to consider? Should I even bother with an aftermarket air intake?
Upgrades, Appearance:
Probably just change the front turn signals to clear corners =) I like the 19" wheels that come with the G. Maybe after a while I will upgrade the wheels and calipers/rotors.
