Got me an 05 6MT sedan!
Hi Everyone, I went to Chicago on a night bus (man am I tired!) and picked up my G from the original owner this morning - 23,000 miles for $15,250. It runs and shifts perfectly, I really put it through the paces on the 390 mile trip home and even then, got 23.5 MPG, so I'm happy with that. It does have a fair amount of scratches I need to address, but no dents. Has sport and premium package, black leather, heated seats and is custom wired to accept any MP3 player. Not quite as fast as what I really wanted - a 2001 E55 AMG. But I think it is a wiser investment. Would I love to get a turbo for this baby, they seem very expensive though.
Headed to Mexico tomorrow morning for a week, so I'll have to wait awhile before I can fondle it again

haha, I was just looking at this car today on Autotrader, I think. Nice car indeed!! Congrats man.
I should also mention that I hate you. New G and Cancun all in one week?! Screw that!
So what happens if you get to Chicago and don't like the car? Greyhound back here again?

Watch those oil levels religously. You better have documentation from the previous owner that he's kept up with the oil change schedule because if your 6MT suffers the oil consumption problem and you're lacking the service data, you're totally screwed. They won't cover replacement of the long block.

Hello and welcome to the Driver! Your car could be my Mija's brother! lol, I also have the 05 6MT with the prem/sport+aero (PS, all 6MT come stock with the sport pkg). Check out my pics! Too bad you will be leaving it for Mexico, but hey, it's Mexico....the G will be waiting for you when you get back.
+1 Dave! I have been watching mine weekly just in case. If you pull a carfax history report (not free but worth the money if you plan to keep it a while) it will tell you EVERYTIME the car has been serviced etc and where, as long as it was a dealership. The OC prob is hit and miss, but serious on our 05 6MT (doesn't seem to effect the 04 or the 05 5AT, just ours mainly). Watch it closely, there is a TSB on here somewhere, plus instructions for what to watch for. Check it out SOON!
