Hey Guys, I just bought an 03 G35 6MT yesterday. I'm a convert from Toyota.
Had a Solara V6 5MT w/ Tein/Tokicos before.
I work a lot with electronics. Mostly interior/exterior lighting, but I can do anything having to do with electricity. As far as mods go, my G has Brembos (stock?), and a CAI. Everything else is OEM. I'm working on a list of electrical tweaking I want to do to the G. Last night was the first night driving it, and I noticed that when the headlights are off, the dash is uncontrollably lit up. So first project is to wire that to the dimmer switch where it should be (the dimmer does work as expected when the headlights are on). The second thing is a bigger project. I don't like the orange interior lights. I will be working on changing everything to red (led's) as soon as I get to taking out the cluster and center console. Another of my plans is red under dash/seat lighting that is wired to the door sensors and a switch to a constant ground for cruising. I just like red, it's a warm color.
I live in So Cal / Torrance and just moved here from Seattle in September 08. Don't know too much of the area that is So Cal yet. I hope to provide some electrical tips and advice and that will grow as I get to more of electrical mapping of the G. Does anybody have any wiring diagrams or links to them?

welcome, brembos are stock on 03s and 04s and if you search, there was a guy that converted the LEDs to blue in his car and it looked sick, search for his pictures and post pics of the car

If you don't like the '03 cluster look for an '05-up. People have retrofit them and the newer clusthers look MUCH better then the older clusters.

After seeing some ebay ads for the 05 cluster, they are listing the odometer reading. I know in all ~95+ Toyotas, the odometer is stored in the ECU and the cluster merely displays the reading. Does the cluster actually store the odometer reading in a G rather than in the ECU?

From memory it's in the cluster. I have an '05 cluster for sale - let me know if you are interested. It has less then 2,000 miles on it!

Will the 07 cluster fit in an 05? If so, what kind of cost is involved if I had someone like you do it, and are all the features on the 07 functional when hooked up to the 05?

I'm very curious.

But, if the cluster stored the odo reading (and not the ECU), then your new 07 cluster wouldn't reflect your actual 05 mileage. Unless you dont care, then nvm and Ill be quiet.

If the mileage on your clusters don't match when you make the switch, and you go get your car serviced at the dealership. guess what. It will show up in your carfax report.

Lets say 6 months ago, your odo read 45,000 miles. And today, it reads 2,000 miles. LOL
