Before I take posession of the car tomorrow... checklist?

Hello there,

I'm hoping tomorrow I will be closing on the transaction for a used 2008 G35 Sedan w Premium/Navigation, I'm very excited about it.

I'm buying this car from a private seller, so my question is:
what things do I have to make sure I check and get with the car when he is handing the keys to me?

So far I have:

- Owner's Manual
- 2nd Key

Anything else? Is there something specific to the 08 G35 Sedan I need to make sure is not missing?

Thanks!

This is just off the top of my head, but I don't remember there being much other than the owner's manual and the two keys. A couple of small things I can think of:

I think there's a little tag with a code number on it that can be used to generate a new key in the event you lose both keys. It may be on the ring with your second key, or it could be on a ring inside the owner's manual case.

And there's a quick start guide that goes over the primary functions of stuff inside the car and is small enough to keep in the glovebox. Convenient since the manual goes in the trunk, but not a necessity since everything is covered in detail in the actual manual.

Good luck!

Thanks! That's the type of input I'm looking for.

How about the cable that connects the iPod? Should I get that from the seller or does it not come with the car and is bought separately?

Check for the spare tire, check the tires. I belive the IPOD cable is an option from the dealer so you may have to purchase it seperately..

Good thought on the iPod cable Hi Tech. I forgot about that. It should come with the car if its on '08 with the premium package. I didn't have to pay for mine and I'm sure the dealer wouldn't have just given it to me ;-)

Also, if it has wheel locks (not all of them do) make sure you get that key. Kinda hard to change a flat on your own without it.

Ask the seller if there's anything else he'd like to throw in for free

I believe there also a first aid kit in there with tons of band-aids including a tampon. And those cool little Infiniti (2) Key Chains.

The First-aid kit in usually located in the trunk (vell-crowed) somewhere, just like the manual of the car.

Not many people get a pink slip when they take delivery of their G's.
Heck, I put $33,500 down on mine and I STILL don't have my pink slip.

I'd have it by now if this economy didn't scare me into stuffing all my cash into my mattress.
