Talking '03 G35 - Black

just bought my car yesterday.

2003 50,000 miles for $9,800.

It's sweet and I'm loving it. Woke up at 7:30 this morning to start waxing it.

I've got some questions about some mods and things that need to be done to the car so everyone will be hearing from me.

Can't wait to get my car looking as nice as some of the others on here.

Thanks.

That price scares the hell out of me to be honest.. The value on G35's is dropping HEAVILY!

(I posted this at a different G35 forum so I figured I'd just copy and paste it here)

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums but plan to be around quite a bit as I am excited as hell to have a new car to play with. I just upgraded from a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL which I loved to death but it was time to get rid of her.

Anyways, I bought the car off of autotrader for $9,800. I live in Georgia so I had to fly to Miami to meet the private party who was selling it and then I drove it the 6 hours back home . I fell in love with the car that quick.

It's gorgeous and drives like a car should. I love the speed and power.

I do have the dreaded "CD ERROR F0" problem. I've researched it and have seen that not many people have much sucess with it. BUT, that I can either, remove the amp from the HU (can't find a how-to on this), disconnect the battery for 45 mins (but have to go to dealership to reprogram security codes), replace the HU for some rediculous amount of money or install an aftermarket unit (plan to do this soon regardless of fix).

I'd like to initially try to reset it via the fuse but I'm not sure where to start. Anyone know?

Also, my brakes (front left?) make this *clicking* noise when I slow down very slowly.... It get's exagerated the slower I go. Fast at first and then slowwwwssssss down. clickclick click..click...click....click.....click.stop. My dad says that it's the pads and that it's just an indicator to change them. I hope this is the case and not something more expensive to fix.

These are a couple of the things that I plan on doing to my car first:

Changing out the clock lights and other interior lights to "Super White". I love this look.

Since my car is black obviously I've got to go with the blacked out headlights. Another look I think is sexy as hell.

These are on the way:

Once I save up a little bit of money I am going to be installing this:

And of course I plan to do some performance mods as well like cold air intake, spacer, headers and maybe exhaust.

So.... that was quite long winded but I figured I'd get it all out there on the first post so as not to be a post *****.

Glad I could join you all here.

Thanks!

Looks like you've got a good start on ideas unlike many first posters who don't know what search means. I'd recommend baking and painting the inside of your headlights instead of overlays. Not sure about the fuse trick but maybe someone does. Good luck

what i'm more concerned about is oil consumption and the fact that you're at 50k miles

GL hope all is well...

the oil consumption problem was on 06+ revup engines, and what's wrong with 50k miles?

actually no my friend has an 04 g35 and he had oil consumption problems and has seen it too... He works for Nissan and said that the Z had the same problem for 03-04. Anyway, it doesn't matter I realized he's already past the 5 year so oh well... Hope nothing is wrong and you enjoy the forums, was just a little concerned for you is all.

WELCOME!

Good luck with your car. I just bought a 05 Coupe, MT with 40,000. That prices sounds too good but hey, never know. I have changed my oil twice and only once did notice I was half quart low this last time after 3000 miles, that's nothing to me but I will keep an eye on it
