New 05 6MT (Red!) w/ all but Navi :-)
Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around here for the past few weeks, learning a lot about the "g's" before I took the plunge and bought mine, an 05 6MT Coupe. I bought mine in Ottawa, Ontario and I live in Saint John, New Brunswick (Canada)... it was a very nice 950km (~580 miles) drive home :-) I think I smiled the whole trip. And I bought the car without ever having driven a G (or any Infiniti) ever before! I had it independently inspected, but my money was in the dealers hands before I ever got behind the wheel.
One question I have is: Can anyone here get me the service details for this car if I provide the VIN? I would like to know if it has ever been checked for oil consumption or clutch probs. The bumper to bumper ran out two weeks before I bought it... but it only has 50,000km (30,000 mi) on it, so... does the drivetrain warrantly cover the oil consumption problem? (Not sure yet if it uses any oil)
I'm very VERY pleased with the car, but I have a couple little gremlins... I'll throw them out here, and I will search the forums too. I'm comfortable with any mechanical work (built muscle cars, engines, chassis when I was younger) and I'm an electronic tech too, so I'm pretty comfortable with fixing most issues myself. Anyway, my air bag light came on about 200km after I picked up the car.... I found the reset procedure on here, and I am able to reset it, but it comes back on again within a few hours of driving.
My other problem is the tire pressure monitor... it seems to come on (showing low tire pressure) after longer drives when the tires have warmed up a bit. It has the Toyo's on it, stock sizes, with 35psi cold in each tire. no leaks. They are currently nitrogen filled.
Anyway, thanks for the forum! Looking forward to lots of reading... I'm just loving the car! I'm not in a big city, and there aren't a lot of nice cars around, so it is getting some looks :-)

+1.....hopefully you didn't too many rockchips on your bumper from that 600 mile trek....had my '06 MT and my front bumper is almost more white than LR
