Noob from chicago

I just picked up a 03 black/tan with a bad motor so I hope you guys can help me out a little to get this thing back on the road. My last car was an 03 is300with stick so this is a little different for me. Im in the middle of pulling the old motor out and was just curious to see if there is anything I should check/replace/look for while im doing this. ALso maybe some tricks to help get it out easier.

I also want to do some mods to it while im swapping motors and wanted an opinion on whether or not I should do all the bolt ons or save up for a vortech sc.

I was either thinking of doing a full exhaust headers back, intake, pulleys..etc or scratching that idea and going with the sc.

So any input, suggestions and good places to buy parts is appreciated.

thanks guys and ill keep everyone posted.
