Honda Owner Torn

What's up everyone ?!?

I came across the boards looking up G35 stuff. I've been dying to get a G35 coupe for a while now. I've been a Honda junky since a teenager

95 Honda Prelude (automatic), traded it in for a 96 Prelude VTEC with leather. Drove that for a long time until I traded it in for a 2006 Honda Civic SI, and then traded that in for a 2009 Civic SI Sedan because I thought I needed the extra doors since I have a daughter

NOW... I've had the Civic for a little over a year, only have 5000 miles on it, but i'm just bored with it ! It's the same engine as my 06 SI Coupe, but I guess the added weight bogs this car down and the torque is terrible.

Like I said, I've been a Honda guy for a looong time, but have completely been in love with the 03-07 G35 coupes

I've been shopping around here in central Florida and have found a few around the mid 20,000's. Melbourne has an 07 Liquid Platinum coupe right now with only 9,000 miles on it, plus the wheel package for 27,000... but it's an automatic (I get too bored with auto's)

There's a car company called Spanos here who deals in luxury cars... and always have shipments coming in... just torn on whether to just go and buy one one day and dump my love affair with Honda lol !

Don't pay $27k for a G35 coupe, you should be able to find a low mileage one for ~$18k these days. People are practically giving them away, just have to look carefully and be patient. Good luck!

Yeah i've been looking for a while now. I either find one and it's blue (not my thing), or it's in Tampa (which is a 3 hour drive) or it's an automatic.

I'd like to get an 07 coupe w/ the sports package and MT. I've found a few but theyre usually in the 25 / 26 grand range. I've found a few 05's for high teens, but kind of wanted to keep it 06 or 07 since i'm buying used.

I'll have to look for a thread for MT vs. Auto on here somewhere. I know the auto is about 20 hp less, but does it feel that much slower. Either one will be much quicker than my Civic SI Sedan lol

just keep in mind that the G is gonna be faster than your civic since it is a V6 as opposed to the 4 banger your driving now. I have a auto and im very happy with it even thou i have always been a MT guy though out the yrs, like everyone has said, go test drive one in the auto and MT to see the comparisons between the two. I dont think you will be disappointed in either form. GL with your search.

It's going to feel like an overweight pig compared to the SI, but it will have more power. Auto isn't all bad, but i'd highly recommend NOT spending 27k on a G35 coupe. You can get them for 18k as others have stated and not to mention that you can get a G37s for that price. I'm looking for a V36 sedan that will poop all over an 07 coupe and they can be had for 18-25k. No 27k. That is ludicrous.

Yeah, thats what people are telling me the more I ask around. It's half and half... half the people say get the G, and the other half say stick with the SI because the G's are tanks with cramped room. IDK

Ill have to take a trip to the luxury dealer here. The closest Infiniti is in Orlando and thats over an hour drive from where im at.

I love my Civics but they remind me of Fast and Furious and my teenager years lol... and im definitely not that anymore... I want a big boy toy lol

(and yes, those prices i've found have been crazy. The only thing that was appealing about that 07 for 27,000 was that it had no miles on it)

Here's a question...

35 or 37 ??

I've been in love with the 35's since they came out and think they have such an insanely sporty aggressive look to them... the 37's look a little more sleek but have the more aggressive engine.

This is like trying to decide between the hot blonde (G35) and the sexy brunette (G37)

??

The manuals are faster then the autos. The 05 and later 6MT's have a slightly different engine that offers better performance (not just 20 more HP). Most have higher Final Drive gearing also. Some autos have the sport package which include the same FD ratio as the manuals and a VLSD.

If you want the sportier version then get a manual. But, if you compare the 6MT to the 5AT of similiar years, the autos aren't too much slower.
