Looking at a G
Looking at a G
A few weeks ago my wife and I were driving around in my beat up 95 BMW 318Ti when we stopped at a local dealer's lot and saw a G35 sitting there. I had no intentions of even giving it a look knowing it was probably way out of my price range but I did for curiosity sake (since every time my wife and I see one we stare at it whether it be stock or modified). About 3 hours later we found out that we couldn't get it with how much we would be putting down on it (we figured that would be the case) but I did get a call from the dealer later that if we get him $2k for a down payment then it's ours. I'll throw a link to the car, tell me whatcha think, please.

Is it a legit dealer or not? The price looks great. See if you can round it down 19,500 or 19,000. I mean the price is already low enough and dealer are always trying to make a lot of money. but over all, the car looks good.
The dealer is a GMC dealer and it was on his used lot. Its a one owner car and the guy im talking to about it knew the lady personally and has all the extra keys, fobs, and manuals in his desk. After the down payment it would be ours for $17k. We test drove it and fell in love with it, just don't wanna come to find out we got screwed.
Low miles, sport model, 6MT...seems like a nice car but the price does seem a bit much. Check your local auto trader, craigslist, kijiji, etc to see what private sellers are asking for a similar car (if you can find one).

I would try to go with a private seller. Dealers add a bunch of fees at the end of the deal. Only negative with buying private is to do your own research on the history of the car, but it should be worth the savings.
I looked through the pics of the sport/non-sport model comparisons and I thought it was just a base, what makes it the sport? I thought the front end and everything looked like the base model ones.

^^^ That's right dealer fees. Total forgot about that. Dealer fees, tax, DMV to register it in your name and the interest. That should do it. So, if you can talk the price down.
The car blue books for $21k on the retail side and I would be driving off the lot in it for $17. Im gonna keep my eye out in case I can find a better deal but I haven't found anything else.
You make is sound weird when you say that. No matter what, your getting the car for just about 20k+dealer fee+interest+DMV. So, maybe your looking at 21k for the hole deal. maybe 22k at the very most. It wouldn't hurt to talk the price down. Just remember the dealers are always trying to make top dollar on a sell. You might get away with offering him 18,500 for the car. the car is going to depreciate once you drive it off the lot.
