New to the G

Greetings! I am about to pull the trigger on an 05 G35 or G35x (AT), just shopping around for the right one. There seems to be a lot of choice out there. I live in the piney woods of Ontario so it has been suggested (lurking around this site) that the AWD version is the way to go. Currently I find good snows on my I35 gives me plenty of winter traction, but of course it is FWD.

I decided on the 05 over the 04 because of the interior improvements and the HP gain. This will be my 5th Infiniti since 1994. My current ride has over 250K kms so I suspect I will have to put it up on blocks until one of my children is ready to take on a car. It still runs like new, but I just can't put off my hankering for a G any longer. I've wanted one ever since I saw one at my dealer in 03.

I've learned a lot hear to help me with my decisions and I hope I can also contribute over time.

Thanks guys.
I'm going to look at an oh-five g35x on Sunday (too bad,I was hoping to buy from a dealer so I could run the HST rebate thru the biz), private sale, 108,000 kms (nice!) asking $13,900. He sounds like an older guy (not unlike myself) and claims the in and out is pristine. It may be a base model, which is a little disappointing, but the 05 x with low mileage really hits the target for me, and the price seems very competitive with the dealer prices, here in the frozen north at any rate.

I have a strong feeling that my first lookee will be my last!

Thanks Kentucky!

I snagged that car today for $13K . . . take delivery on Tuesday! It's the darker charcoal - y gray, Premium Package, but it seems the MP3 accessory isn't worth anything after all, outdated technology. Very very clean car, inside and out, I am pleased to say the least. It comes with 2 sets of tires and my I35 rims will fit the winters!

Can't wait for Spring to detail the exterior . . . it's pristine, but it can always be pristiner! lol

No pics until it warms up enough to get the salt and grime off!
