Hey guys I actually picked up my g35 about a month and a half ago. I'm 19 and just sold my 300zx to buy this car. Definitely an upgrade but I'm still getting familiar with the G. From what Ive seen so far this is one of the most informational car forums Ive been on and once I get some experience Id love to contribute as well.

And yes I am actually paying the entire car myself. Not a reckless spoiled kid. lol heres a rundown of what i got the car with..


Picked my 5AT 07 coupe up with 26,000 miles
-Motegi 19" staggered wheels ( not exactly my taste but i can work with them)

-Magnaflow Exhaust( not too familiar with the different parts of an exhaust)

- Lambo Doors ( yes i know. not my favorite either. but i dont think they look all that terrible on this car. just not something i would of spent money on)
- AP racing big brake kit
- Tein Flex coilovers with EDFC
- Megan racing headers
- Stillen CAI
- Defi Gauges
- Transgo shift kit
- Hotchkis sway bars in front and back (I believe. Theres tons of stuff under the car but im pretty sure its all for stability)

Anyway I love the car but I am thinking about taking it partially back to stock as I would like to have a smoother ride. I'm new so I have tons of questions.

And yes i AM familiar with the SEARCH button as many of u point out but if you would like to contribute some freindly advice Id really appreciate it guys

Heres my list of questions . Feel free to answer any that you know.

1. If i want to change my lowbeams to 6k and my fogs to 8k and my city lights to LEDs what steps must i take?

2. What can I do to get that REALLY smooth ride you get with a stock g35 without sacrificing looks? (changing the EDFC to "smoothest" just isn't cutting it)

3. I feel like my car takes off really slow(slight lag between gears) but once it has picked up speed its really fast. Could it be I need tuning? Exhaust leak? transgo shift kit not installed right? etc.

4. I dont have enough posts to post in the marketplace, so if anyone out there has all the interior to the trunk, a complete stock exhaust, a nismo OB front bumper or an OB roof spoiler let me know!!! i will trade or buy if the price is right.

2. transgo- good choice- I have it myself on my 06 5at.

3. If you want a softerish ride try using Eibachs on Tokico struts, I've used them in the past (not on a g coupe though) and it's fairly doable compared to other suspension setups

4. no clue on your marketplace stuff, just search around on there and PM the people who are selling those things, once you hit 100 posts you'll be able to post up in there I believe.

5. welcome to Driver, enjoy your stay. Car looks good but I'd get rid of those darn doors. Also .. megan racing headers? So you have their longtube headers or? I had them and they were okay with me but I switched them out.

PS: the thing about your car taking off slow, .. are you using vdc? Tire slippage? not boosted? what? Get a tune (osiris is recommended). If you have an exhaust leak I'm sure you can hear it.

thanks for the input bro. yeah i know i hate the doors more and more everyday since people don't even know how to open them and i cringe every time i hear my door shut wrong..

but anyway, so ur saying that the tein flex coil over system is a bumpy ride in general? ive looked it up and its pretty expensive so maybe i could sell it off and get something a little more smooth.

and as far as the megan headers all i know is thats what the guy told me it had. i dont see why he would lie but i havnt even seen them myself. maybe it would be a good idea to go back to stock on those as well?

oh and the vdc is off. permanently. lol the button to turn it on or off doesnt work. the car isnt turbo but that was the intention of the previous owner. im guessing thats what all the gauges and big brake kit were intalled for.
