Cool G35, esq. (soon)

The name is Allen and I am (obviously) new to the site. It seems like a great place for info on my new, previously loved, G35. I was the fortunate third party beneficiary in a car transaction between my mother and brother, wherein, I inherited his 2004 G35 as sort of a law school graduation present. My Baby is fire engine red, in immaculate shape, and only has about 40k miles. Yesterday I drove by a few kids playing basketball and one shouted "nice car bro" as I passed. Little does he know, he made my day.

The first order of business was clearing out the sidemarkers. I plan on doing much more as the pay checks come in (starting my first legal job in September, woohoo!). At this time, I am thinking of some sort of body kit and maybe a carbon fiber trunk. I suppose that is after I shell out the $600 to have the actuator replaced because the passenger door won't unlock, grrrrrr.

Well, I hope I don't make a complete fool of myself and ya'll will take it easy on me if I say something misinformed. I don't know much about cars, but I plan on learning now that I own something I can be proud of.

Best,

AJR

whoa whoa whoa there's DIYs on the door lock things. I would just buy a new OEM replacement (~175 i think) and just do it yourself.

stop me before calling you an aszhole but did you call the color of your G35 "Fire Engine Red" ? If you got your car repainted then fine but the correct color is known as Lazer Red (AX6)
