06 G Coupe SoCal noob

I was in an unfortunate accident a few weeks ago and was left with this.....

but then I was like

06 G Coupe SoCal noob-vjlehl.jpg

I'm sad to see my previous car be gone, but am glad I was able to make a significant upgrade to the G coupe. It's an 06 Diamond Graphite. The previous owner kept it real clean and has low mileage. I don't want to go too crazy with mods, but just a few. I've been trolling the site since I first found the car on Craigslist. I hope to learn more about the car in general and get feedback on potential mods. The only things I'd maybe want to do are: drop, deep lip wheels, intake, possibly exhaust and looking for a decent lip kit.

The car itself put me back some financially, so won't be doing too much right away, but may start out with the small typical stuff....like intake, clear sidemarker, pedal covers.

So if anybody can share feedback on any items, let me know. I'm looking at the Nismo or AEM intake and Nismo pedal covers. Any good looking clean lip kits out there?

Also thinking about doing the iSimple Nissan ipod adapter. Anybody have any good experience with those? I have my old headunit from my other car, but wanted to keep this car as close to stock as possible with the obvious exceptions of the above mentioned items.

TL;DR - Got in a crash, got a 06 G Coupe, what feeback do you have on the mods I would potentially get - intake, exhaust, lip kit, drop, ipod adapter

Welcome man. A good way for researching mod ideas is to either go to the coupe forums and read the threads/look at the pics or else go to a meet to see/hear/discuss said mods in person.

Whaddya know, the huge meet of the year is next month:

https://g35driver.com/forums/upcomin...24-2011-a.html

There are also smaller, more local meets posted up in the Socal subforums. Happy modding!

Thanks man!! Good thing is there are a lot of choices for aftermarket parts...bad thing is there area a lot of choices for aftermarket parts. I know for what I'm looking for there isn't a big difference between them but I always like to hear other's opinions. I'll definitely check out those threads.

Good looking out on that meet. It's right by where I live, so I just might have to check that out. I'm hoping more coupes show up too.

Search air intake and you'll find you're better of with a z-tube.
Doesn't look like u have the 6mt tranny so....
Best performance starter mods (NA):
z tube
revup airbox
Motordyne 5/16 or 1/2 plenum spacer
HFCs - search
exhaust - search
Tune

Welcome aboard! Sorry bout the TL, but happy bout the G!

If you are looking for good deals, head over to the marketplace here. Best intake/air filter for the money is generally the Z-tube/high flow panel filter (K&N) the Cold airs/pop chargers sound a bit deeper IMO but if it's bang for buck you're after simple is better.

Quite a few lips out there, but I have to vote OEM (or replica) if you just want a nice clean lip
