I've had my 2005 G35x for about two months now as I near my 17th birthday. I like everything about this car except for the squeaking window gaskets and the faulty compression rod bushings. It has just over 98,000 miles which is quite a jump from my previous car.
I sold my 2004 BMW 330i back in August with just about 80,000 miles and it couldn't have possibly been any cleaner. I had the bumper repainted because there was a ding in it therefore, it was absolutely stunning when I sold it.

And here's my new car

The previous owner took these and it has since been immaculatized. It was truly disgusting when I bought it however, I failed to take pictures of the filth because I was so anxious to begin cleaning. I started with a simple wash, clay, polish and then wax. I cleaned the seats with ridiculous amounts on leather cleaner since there was 6-7 years and 97,000 miles or grime built up.

I recently got the rear windows tinted with 35% and I also had the stock pipe replaced with a coupe mid-pipe. I just got my new Eagle tires put on last month and my touch-up paint arrived in the mail the other day. I hardly put any miles on my car (about 6,500/year) but they're all around town which can be hard on the car as well. I've had all the fluids flushed and replaced the spark plugs and air filter. The brakes are new so I'm pretty much good to go.
My parents had been loyal owners to two other BMW 3 series and my brother is still enjoying his. Here's my Mom's 2008 G35x so I'm not super new to the Infiniti brand.

And here's their old 330i 6 speed with the sport package

This is not true at all. BMWs are amazingly engineered and everything seems to have been done for a reason. The older ones (e46) were the best in my opinion. The transmissions are very smooth and slide right into gear, the brakes last more than 15,000 miles as well as the tires and they handle better than any daily driver. The weakest spot of BMW cars is the reliability. If they could figure out how to make their cars as reliable as the Japanese brands they would dominate. BMW is not a crappy brand at all. I would equate Ford/Chevy to VW in Europe.

Maybe he means that in the sense of how common they are...not necessarilly their quality.
I've talked to quite a few people from europe, and they all say bimmers are a dime a dozen over there...nothing special about them. They actually go ape **** over our cars over there...things like mustangs, camaros, vettes, etc....the cars we might look at as being "played out".
Sorry to keep threadjacking op. LOL.
Exactly..................I guess he's right about VW being the Fords and Chevys, but that would still make BMWs the Mercury and GMC of that area. You need to realize that the median $50K a year job here makes about $20K more a year on average so a BMW isn't as an expensive car over there like it is here............then throw the $10K import tax on it here and you have a high end luxury car that isn't really what it is LOL.
Regardless, I'd take an AMG over anything BMW has put out..........in case you didn't know, AMG mean "Awesome Manly Goodness"
