New here, soon to be owner!

Hi all, I’m Danny. I live in Tallahassee, FL but am originally from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale where I regularly visit family and friends.

I’m not a G owner yet but am currently in the hunt for my first.

I started looking for another car when my beloved ‘91 CRX Si of 10 years finally took a dump about a month ago and I just didn’t feel like yanking the motor out, or repairing/replacing other worn-out parts that I’d been neglecting. At the time I didn’t know the G35, a car I’d always desired and admired, had become so affordable. The same week my motor died a friend let me borrow his ’05 DG 5AT coupe for a weekend trip to Orlando. This experience clinched the idea that I MUST have one. That’s when I started lurking around here and have been visiting daily.

I can’t wait to find an ‘05 or newer Black on Black 6mt coupe with Nav! Maybe I’ll settle for one in Diamond Graphite if I find the right deal.

Otherwise, I’ve been a ricer-hating “Honda guy” for some time now. I purchased my current bone-stock Si (unless the short-shifter and poly bushings count) for $500… clean and all-original from the original owner, but not running. I had another in Tahitian green for the 4 years prior to that which I totaled/bought back/parted out, along with a white 91 DX hatch for a few months in between the two Si’s.

I credit this forum and its participants for the useful information I’ve found here that is helping me make an intelligent, informed buying decision. I was unaware of things like oil consumption, which years have specific features/options, etc. until I found this site. Additionally, the pics of your dope rides keep me day-dreaming about what I’ll do with my first G!

VEN0M’s has been one of my favorites that I’ve seen so far. I’d have probably driven down there to buy it if it was 6MT/nav!

Otherwise I look forward to being a part of this scene and making new friends from it. Even though none of you know me, and I am a nobody here yet, I feel kinda familiar with some of you regulars since I’ve been here reading so much, paying attention to who’s in my region/state and going through your respective project pages.

I know and utilize the search function and you’ll generally only hear from me if I can’t figure the proper keywords to find what I want - or to socialize/crack jokes/be sarcastic/tell you I think your car is cool.

Anyway, accept my apologies for the long-winded intro. I figured I’d come in with a bang of substance and not offer the more typically n00b-ish “Sup yall just got mah fat-@$$ new g35 what r da best modzzz”.

Thanks for reading!

Hi Danny, "Welcome to DRIVER!" Looking for a G35 coupe you need to set your standards which should include the newest low mileage car within your budget. Get anything but silver, everyone and their neighbor has one that color. I recently saw pic of a meet, out of 10 G35s 8 were silver and two IP. (white) Did you check our MARKETPLACE under Private Classifieds for a G in your area? Good Luck!
Gary
