New Guy with a 6MT Sedan

Hey everybody, you might recognize my name, as I've been posting here and there in preperation for the new car. Lo and behold, I picked it up last weekend! It's a 2006 6MT with 42,000 miles, black on tan leather, factory Bose, bluetooth, and heated seats... All the goodies (except for nav). I'm located in Madison, AL, so if anyone is close that wants to help with coilovers/JDM Double Din swap, please feel free to let me know!

I hope I can become a part of the warm community here and maybe meet some of you in the future. Hopefully, I'll have this thing stanced very tastefully within the next month or so.

Here are a few pictures.

Nice 6mt and very low mileage...

now take it to some autocrosses and learn how to drive her properly.

I promise you will enjoy the car tons more after you learn all her curves. (so to speak)

Thanks fellas. I've been driving the hell out of it, getting used to everything the best I can. BC BRs, JWT pop charger, Stillin Z tube, Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS with all the wiring necessities, and some free stuff from Z1 is on the way! I'm waiting to hear back from Phil@OCInfiniti to order the JDM double din kit.

Exhaust and wheels/tires are soon to come. I'm gonna be battleshipped pretty bad for a little while, simply because I want to get used to being low without messing up a brand new set of wheels!

Any other advice/input is greatly appreciated!

Font waist money on full exhaust, high flow cats and after market mid pipe is all you need for performance. If you want loud, buy a full exhaust, but not needed.
Dont waist money on headers.

If you buy suspension, the z parts are a tad lower than g. So to do a drop without slamming. Buy mild drop for the z...

I have 350z H Tech springs, Tokico blue shocks. The z is 0.8 lower off the bat. So the H is not as aggressive as the S tech. So im lower than g part number TEIN H, but higher than G S Tech.

Lol. If you follow me?

Well I'm running coilovers because I plan to autocross a little bit here and there.

As far as exhaust, I'm considering MD ART pipes and a coupe mid pipe.

Good move, just don't think coils are the best, plenty or cheaper options out there. Shop around.

Appreciate it everybody. Installed the Pioneer double din and pop charger/Z tube last night. Coilovers are going on today.

Gonna have about 3 feet of fender gap until I sell my truck and I can comfortably afford the wheels. All these parts have my bank account hating me haha

I'm thinking either Work Gnosis HS203s or Varrstoen ES1s. Can't decide whether I want a mesh or 5 spoke look (and whether I really want to spend that much money on wheels).

Right now, I'm pretty set on 19x9.5 +12 up front on a 235/35R19 and 19x10.5 +12 in the rear on a 265/35R19. Anybody care to take a guess as to how much fender roll I'll need (natural camber)?

I'm running 19x9.5 +22 in the rear and -2.7* of negative camber. I'm rolled flat. You may even need a pull to fit those 10.5 +12 on there or some high negative camber. I'm not 100% sure though.

I wasn't willing to go any more than what I have. My sedan is still my DD

welcome fellow 6mt sedan owner!

my car had 19x10 +35 with a 275/35 tire on the rear when i bought it and it was rolled flat. maybe 1* of camber at most and it sat great. however it had the 10" wheel for performance purposes and not stance....

If you plan on autocrossing and actually care about the performance of the car, then I would suggest you not go for the hellaflush/stance look and actually retain some bump travel. I would also you get better shocks than BC shocks. Not all shocks are created equal. Depending on how much autocrossing you want to do, you might also want to look at the tire/wheel rules on max widths for whatever class you want to run in before buying anything. I think your wheels are over width limits.

I hope you know hellaflush/stance is completely form>function. If you like the look and that is your primary concern, go for it. But if you still care about function and don't want to make your car slower than stock, you might want to reconsider.

The main benefit of coilovers is the height adjustability. If you know what height you want to run at, spring/shock combo is basically the same thing and cheaper.

Either way you go, hellaflush or performance, I would suggest you stay away from taiwanese (and japanese) shocks, like BC. Here is a good primer on shocks:
