Just got my G35 coupe!

Hey guys, I've been looking for a nice daily for awhile and decided to pick me up an 03 G35 coupe with navigation and 6 speed. It does have minor problems like the radio and ac controls not working and I read that it is a common problem with the G's. So what do I all need for the double din conversion exactly? I'm about to order the double din for the 03-05 with the ac controls, I just don't know what else to get to complete it since it's a Bose system. Much thanks.

Here's a pic of the G, and another pic of my other car that made me get the G cause I'm dumb.

Welcome to the forums... Nice 8th gen civic. Looks like you put a lot of work into her. Fwd is ok, but you'll enjoy rwd a lot more.

I linked the sticky in what you need for the aftermarket radio upgrade. Most of your questions have probably been answered already since the cars been around for 10yrs.

Nice G, those headlights could use a little TLC though.

Congrats! I think you will be very happy with a DD head unit. The stock system sounds soo bad! The link should answer all your questions. My sound system is one of the reasons I enjoy driving so much.

Yes, that was my first upgrade target as well. Don't forget the tweeters in the front top corner of the doors!

The DD upgrade was great too.

You've got a popular colour as well so getting a replacement for that banged up front fender should be EASY!

Thank you guys for the compliments. I really don't need the steering wheel interface since I want to save a little bit of cash. Now I have to see what double din I'm gonna get. Yeah the front bumper is kinda chipped but I plan on getting a new Duraflex C Sport bumper for it soon. Headlight's are pretty oxidized but I will have the car detailed soon so it should be fine. I also wanted to ask does it matter what size double din to get?

welcome man, i see that you are Vietnamese, welcome again brotha i'm viet also. And i have Pioneer Avic Z120bt never have a problem (if installed correctly), and clean because you can change and adjust the color temperature to match your stock amber interior lighting.

Welcome to Driver! You're coupe sure needs a whole lota TLC starting with those fugly headlights. First gen headlights are weak when new, you must have trouble driving at night. Second best mod for your coupe is '06 OE projector headlights, get em while they're still available. Good Luck!

Welcome to the forums. Congrats on your new G. When you buy the DD conversion kit make sure you get an official 03-04 JDM Nissan kit and not a cheap aftermarket.

I'd recommend a K2 over a C Sport, you'll note they look similar but I think a poly K2 would be the superior choice. I'm pretty sure all DDINs are the same size? (double)? If there is a difference, I certainly didn't know about it when I put mine in. If you don't get new headlights, I would at least have them re-clearcoated by a body shop (like when you get your new bumper), otherwise they will constantly get fogged up and need buffed, they'll just never look good. Will cost you less than $100 unless the shop is ripping you off.

Usually its the other way around. People daily drive a civic and garage their g35 since the G is not very gas efficient.

I will take all of this into consideration, thanks for the help again guys. I looked up the K2 and they look very similar, I will definitely get the K2 since its poly. Yes, I will be getting the JDM double din with the 03-04 ac controls. I am definitely enjoying the car, have been keeping an eye on the oil to make sure it doesn't go low.

I would also give a good look at the Karuma Z and Inven front bumpers before deciding. Personally, I think those two are top tier.

Inven

Karuma Z

i think the stock system is fine, long as you upgrade the head unit. The bose head unit is junk.
