Picking up my new G35s on Saturday-- any tips for inspection?
First off-- this appears to be an excellent community! I look forward to learning from the knowledge you all have shared.
I've purchased a 2007 G35s Sedan this week, and am picking it up in Houston on Saturday. Does anyone have any tips on what to look for before I formally sign for the car? Any common issues that are expensive to fix? I just want to be drive it off the lot and have something immediately break that's going to cost me several thousand dollars to fix.
The specific car I'm getting has the fairly common trim chipping on the steering wheel, and I plan to get that fixed. Seeing as it's out of warranty does anyone know the approximate cost to get it replaced at an Infiniti dealer? Or easy enough to do myself with good looking results?
Thanks!
David

Welcome to DRIVER!
Make sure it has a clear CARFAX, you don't want to spend your hard earned $$ on a car that's been in a wreck aka junk yard dog! Have a qualified Nissan mechanic check the car over, on a rack top to bottom. Service records are a major plus, indicates how the car was cared for. On the test drive push the car hard for at least a mile, no once around the block granny style. Good Luck, enjoy the ride!
