Ive been looking for either a black or white g35 coupe but cant seem to decide whether i should get an automaticbor manual transmission.im also not sure on the model year thats most reliable.basicly what i want to know is:
1.is it a good idea to get a mt in northern california
2are the 03-04 model years reliable or should i get 05+
3.are there any members livibg in northern cali that can tell me how bad traffic is over there

Welcome! Take your time in your search for the right G. Finding one in good condition for a fair price will take some time. You might come across a great G owned by one of our fellow members in the marketplace (https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cars-54/). I can't answer your questions because I don't live in NorCal but a lot of the members here are from that area.
One thing you have to watch out for is the oil consumption in the 05+ MT's. The 03-04's are not unreliable, but I would say get at least an 05 since they redid the interior for that year. 06-07 are the facelifted versions with new exterior styling (namely the projector headlamps). Other small things to watch out for is the third brake light (if there's no trunk spoiler), window motors, door lock actuators, compression rod bushings. Always take the car for a test drive and have a mechanic look at it. You might be able to score a good deal off of Craigslist but a lot of them don't seem to be regularly maintained and have very high mileage.
