New G Owner in Central Texas

Hey guys, I've been lurking for awhile and haven't had a chance to make my intro thread.

I just recently bought one of my realistic dream cars. I've built a handful of cars of the years, (civic's, integra's, miata's, 240sx's), but it was finally time for me to move up to a (relatively) newer car.

I've always loved the G35, my uncle bought one in 02 (as an 03) black on black, six speed. I absolutely loved the car. It felt really nice, and it had decent power. I got to borrow it on several occasions, and knew that one day I'd own one. I think I was about sixteen or seventeen at the time. A few months later, he had my dad install his Stillen Supercharger, and later slowly moved up to the stage 2, 3, and 4 (respectively), and each time I got to drive the car, as he was sharing his mods with me.

Anyway, I could never really afford one (didn't like making payments, lesson learned from my S2000), but I finally found one that was in my price range, and what I wanted. I found an 05, black on black, six speed, with nav.

The car is far from perfect (paint was keyed, has fading here and there, etc etc). However, it already had headers back, so that was something I didn't have to do. Interior is a little shabby (drivers seat ripped, cigarette burns), but I paid 6K for it, while every other G in the area was still going for 9-10K.

Thus far, I've added coilovers, and some PIAA wheels, and couldn't be happier with it. I had some issues on the first week of owning the car (HID's going bad, fans failing) but got it all fixed up, and couldn't be happier.

A little about me, and I've always had the luck of owning two cars (one toy, and one daily). I've built a few cars, I recently build a 280z with a RB20 (which is going to be gone Saturday ). I was originally building it as my track car, but learned how hard it was to get replacement parts, and how I know I wouldn't have the ***** to destroy it. So I'm trading it for something I know somewhat, a S13. I work a regular nine to five, so I don't have a lot of money, but enough money (and intelligence) to put it in the right places, so if I do anything crazy with the G, you'll see my build threads are either; 1) really slow, or 2) I post everything once I'm done.

I really enjoy road racing at our semi-local track (Harris Hill Road) and enjoy karting, so you can find me at a few kart tracks when time allows.

Anyway, unfortunately I don't have many pictures of my G (yet) but I'll add some eye candy on a few cars I've been fortunate enough to own.

This was my last daily (last and only hellaflush-ish car) that I sold in favor for the G

03 Mazda Miata, coilovers and wheels, nothing done to the engine, I did the six speed swap, and matching rear end, with LSD, radiator, fans, morrette taillights (a little rare) and did a tablet install in this car. I absolutely loved this car, but it was hurting my back (i drive an hour to see my GF, three times a week).

This is my 76 280z, this was also one of my realistic dream cars, I grew up with my dad telling me stories about how he and my mom (divorced now) drove cross country in a few of these cars, how much fun he had, and the memories they shared. I really value the memories of my parents together, and to this day (almost a decade later) I still think about those times before they split.

I've always loved how the Z's looked, and for the longest time I could never find one that I really wanted, until this one. I purchased this one stock (minus five speed transmission) that still had A/C. I wanted to do a swap as the L28 didn't make much power, and I've always loved my brother's S14 with his RB20 as it revved to the sky!

RB20, front facing intake manifold, eBay turbo setup @ 15 psi, speedhut gauges, T3 suspension, megan S13 coilovers with McKinney Weld on setup, XXR 531, Dapper HID retrofit kit, Carl H tuned ECU, and a lot of other things. I'm trading at a loss, but oh well, I'll be getting another car that has suspension already done, that parts are readily available.

Before the miata I had a SW20 MR2, it was factory turbo also another one of my realistic dream cars, but sold it because it had a lot of problems, and really hard to work on. Plus a friend of mine, "had to have it". He actually still has it now.

And my favorite car of all time (no sarcasm) is my 92 SC400. I bought this car cause it was pretty, I was in college at the time (2005) and my mom wanted to buy me a car, I never asked for anything, and at the time, I was building my S14. So she asked if I wanted to buy a beater, and she gave me a grand, I ponied up some more money (1500) and bought this SC. I bought it was all stock! It had 248K on it, and ran like a champ! I brought her home, and gave her a tune up, complete with timing belt, water pump, seals etc) Paint was bad but in the end I made it worse (you'll see in a second).

This car went through hell and back with me owning it. A friend of mine gave me a nitrous kit cause he owed me some money, and I was playing with nitrous. I bought a spare motor from a guy on the forums for a whooping $150....so I really had nothing to lose, but time right? So I ended up running a get this, a 200 shot through it seeing what it had in her. I've caught so many cars in it, and the slush box didn't like it, but it ran amazing! I found a buyer for the nitrous kit, so I pulled it off later (over ten refills later lol), and the motor still ran great!

After more research (and some disbelief) I learned so much about the 1UZ, even though it was a slow dog, it made a good amount of power when built, and was super reliable! A few years later, I ended up building a manual transmission kit for it. At time there was only one or two places that made it, and they were from Aussie land and really expensive. I got with a machinist who built me a plate for it, and was able to mock it up in car.

Unfortunately at the time, I didn't get to finish it, and sold it to my (other) uncle who needed a car for his daughter. I sold it to him, for 2K, and took that money to buy a MKIII supra. Though at first I didn't really like this car, I slowly started to love it. I had a 7mgte in it, that died from rod knock, at the time the 2jzGET setup was pretty popular (2jz non turbo, with 7m electronics) so I did that, pieced together my swap, blew up. cont. post 2

And finally bit the bullet and went GTTE, from this I learned how much I hated 2jz's. The fastest time my supra went at the 1/4 was a whooping 14.3. Granted the MKIII is heavy, and 2jz's are known for killing the secondary turbos, mine was still making boost, but it was just slow as dirt, plus GTE stuff is crazy expensive. I sold the swap, and a set of USDM turbos to a friend of mine.

So, remember I had that 1uz laying around? And the semi manual swap? Well you guessed it, they went together

At the same time, I took my left over money and put down a down payment on my 08 S2000 CR. I dont' have any pictures, but I have my build thread (http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/7130...-build-thread/). SO I wont' go over this one...

Well maybe I'll add a few pics of it on the track

The 350z is my uncle who purchased my SC400.

And a pic with my close friend in his NSX (as you can see I was still working on the hood design

Anyway, back to the cool stuff; so the MKIII ended up being man

manual turbo V8, and it met it's untimely fate of getting plowed by a semi. Which sucked, because I had just ordered my body kit for it, and my 91 conversion pieces

One of the few pics of the Supra with the engine in it. If you look in the lower right hand corner you'll see the Holset HX35

Anyway, so as you can see the supra died a fast and painful death, my uncle decided to sell the SC back to me, after getting the heads redone. The SC came back to me in pristine shape, but for some reason, I decided to build it half assed....my biggest regret, I have no idea why I did it the way I did, and I really regret a lot of things on this car.

In the end, the car ended up having a 97+ conversion on it, half assed plastidip. 1uz with a manual transmission, supercharger and standalone ecu. I never got to dyno it, but I had a good time wiht it on 7 PSI.

Anyway, I parted the Supercharger, the standalone, and my close friend bought it, her BF repainted the car, and now it's back to good daily driven shape.

This what she looked like when I first put wheels and coils on her. So clean...

Anyway, so before my S2000, I bought a RX7 as a toy car, this car didn't last very long, as I hated the gas mileage it had, and was too scared to take it very far away. My dad originally bought it for himself, but bought a NSX (his dream car) so this one had to go, and as his son, I got it for a decent deal (11K), and he already had it painted

The wheels were saved before I sold it...

This car went to a semi local forum member (well, RX7club member).

A little off topic, but my brother's old car

Anyway, I won't bore you guys with the older stuff, since most of them were pretty uninteresting.... so hopefully you guys enjoy, and don't flame me too bad on my SC
