I flew out to Houston to pick up this very nice G. It's a 2 owner TX car (Clean CarFax) with the first owner having it for all of it's life until 9 months ago. Drove it back nearly 1000 miles to Nashville, TN without a hiccup. It's all stock and it will probably stay that way as I have a Miata which I use for modding and extreme twistys. It has the red shocks which I read somewhere means it has the sport suspension. So far I love this car.
So far I've done an oil change (it was due when I got back to Nashville) and changed the accessory belts which was a 15 minute job. Today I'm ripping apart the center stack to add an iSimple iPod adapter (What is that long slot above the radio for?) and hard wiring my V1 to the mirror/lights/switched 12v. Then maybe a long drive through the twisties around NashVegas.
There just a few things that I need to fix.
First is that the cruise control is flaky. You always turn it on or off, but sometimes it will not set. Thought it might be some kind of clutch or brake pedal switch going bad at first but with it working/not working it would seem to be something else.
Second is the forward/backward switch on the passenger seat does not work. The seat back angle switch works fine.
Third is the drivers window sometimes does not go down, especially when I pull up to talk to someone. This may be OE, but I'll keep track.
So far oil consumption was less than 1/2 quart over the 1000 mile drive. Gas mileage was 27.8 over the second leg of the journey which had windows closed, sunroof tilted open, AC off, 75-80 mph without cruise most of the time.

For your cruise control check the switch on top of the clutch by the dash to make sure it is making contact. If not you can adjust it and see if that fixes your issue with cruise control. Your window motor could be going out which is a common issue with G35 / 350z. I would either clean it and be ready to clean it again or just replace it with a unit that has lifetime warranty on it. Try regular conventional oil 10w30 and see if that slows down your oil consumption.Originally Posted by shoult

Thanks Faiz. The pictures are a great help. Strangely though, the CC didn't work at all once I got back to Nashville for the first week. And then all of a sudden it's working perfectly. I did notice a change in the clutch pedal feel when leaving and returning to the very top. It had an unnatural feel. A kind of pop when I first pressed the pedal down and then a snap at the very top when releasing. I suspect something may have lodged in there somewhere and is now dislodged. Now the travel is smooth as silk.
Even with these few problems I'm loving the G.

I would change out your clutch fluid and while you are under the dash looking at the cruise control. Maybe do the clutch mod where you remove the clutch delay spring. You will really enjoy the vehicle and the clutch which will be much more predictable than stock. Go a step further and pickup the RJM clutch pedal.
