New to the site from Nashville Tn

Finally joining up and introducing myself. Long time 240sx owner over many different s13's and a Zenki s14. Going through a divorce so decided to buy me a nicer car before the child support payments hit lol. Picked up an '03 Sedan 6MT with 141k miles.

Let me tell you, it has been a huge PITA so far but I'm getting all the issues slowly worked out. I'll copy over my thread from a local forum to give you more info on the car.

Picked this '03 G35 up Tuesday night after thinking long and hard about it.

140k on the car. I'm the third owner. It came from Cali according to the Carfax history and was brought here in '09.

It has a salvage title from back in 09 with the original owner. The 2nd owner had it for 4 years and put 70k on it with no problems out of it so I felt comfortable enough to buy it with the salvaged title.

Drive it for not even a full day before some damn **** tagged me with a BB or pellet gun.

Key Fob broke so ordered a new one while ordering my Philips 4300k bulbs off amazon.

2/27/14
CEL popped up for Cam Angle and Knock Sensors.

3/1/14
Replaced the bank 1 CAS which took car of all the codes its was throwing and the hard time it had starting.

Also installed the new 4300k stock HIDs while I was at it. They look 10000x better. Would like to do a retrofit in the near future but the stock lights did make a huge difference on the cut off.


In the next week or two I will be grabbing a set of Philips Xenon 9003 bulbs for the fog/high beams to match the color of the low beams.

SES light popped back up throwing P0174 (Lean bank 2) and a P0327 (Low voltage/Knock Sensor)

Knock sensor and knock sensor sub harness ordered from Z1 motorsports.

Tore into the motor replacing the knock sensor and sub harness. Took me longer to get the sub harness replaced than anything else. (Figure that lol).



Yes I'm **** and OCD with organization especially while working in things.


SES light back on 15 miles later with the P0174 code. Looked further at the motor and seen there was some splitting at the factory flex area of intake piping. Ordered a Z tube from Z1 motorsports. Hope to have it by this Friday.

Received z tube and ended up being defective. Sent back waited two weeks for them to ship the some one back to be but altered. Still wasn't right but I got impatient and made do with it. It does the job. Still did not fix the SES light.

Moving onto replacing Bank 2 upstream o2 sensor which is now ordered.

Replaced the o2 sensor and this is what we pulled out. I'll say it was a little far gone. Lol. Replaced with a plug and play Denso o2 sensor and running like a charm. Best thing is, its back into 26-27 mpg range, and not in the 16-18 mpg range.
