2003 G35 coupe trans prob? gives a kick

I have a 2003 infiniti g35 coupe that I purchased on 86k. It has now 92k.
I don't know if the trans fluid has ever been changed. So my mechanic drained and added 2qts twice.

I change the engine oil regularly with high mileage synthetic oil.
I recently changed the differential fluid, and my mechanic drained 2qts of trans fluid twice in the last 8months.

For the past couple of months, I feel a kick while accelerating from 10mph to 20. It feels like the trans pauses for 5sec, and starts again while I am accelerating. I took it to a mechanic, and they said they added some additives to the trans to fix it, but its still there (or maybe has gotten worse).
What can I do to fix this problem? Its worrying me a lot. I hope my trans is not dying.
Any suggestion will be really appreciated. - Thanks

It might be low on fluid. If your car has a transmission dipstick than you can try and check it yourself.

Sounds like low trans fluid. You can check it yourself, remember engine must be running to get accurate reading...Gary

I do not see any other dipstick other than the engine oil. Is there anywhere I can look at to check the trans fluid?

Shid, look on the passenger side in front of the battery box, you'll need a wrench to remove the nut after you start your car. Don't forget there's only one type of trans fluid used on our Nissan ATs, or has your mechanic used something else? Another reason why it isn't shifting correctly...Gary

Gary, my mechanic used some other trans fluid (said it works for my infiniti). Is there something I can do now? Will it help if I add Nissan ATs now?
