Talking Kinda new!!

I bought my 07 G35 coupe 6MT back in april and ive been hanging around the forums learning about my car from the guys and gals who had plenty more experience than me in the VQ35 field. and i would like to thank you all for the great info i found out here.

my car had everything i would have liked to do for it myself since they day i bought such as a full body kit, CF roof spoiler, CF wingless trunk, upgraded headlights, 20'' wheels and lowering springs, high flow cats and catback exhaust system and short shifter. but it was still missing the motordyne touch so i got the MREV2 and 1/2" plenum spacer.

after all that no more can really be added to benefit from power wise aside from an FI install or a bottle install which none of which i wanna do, so i started messing with the cars appearances LOL...... PlastiDip...yup you guys guessed it right. my car originally is black so flat black made sense and i went for it for few months. then for the winter/track i bought 18" 350z wheels and dipped them bronze/burnt orange to match my interior and dipped the whole car again but this time was pearl white which i really like and its still on the car for now, when warm weather comes back around i'll dip another color again

The car originally had 06-07 projector headlights so the headlights on there now are actually a major downgrade.
Interior looks cool with the black in the one pic

i do not have the original headlights so i couldnt compare but i like the black background in these lights vs. the chrome infiniti decided to use.
the interior is one major factor in my decision to buy this car

the plasti dip can vary depending on much work you wanna do. i buy it by the un-thinned gallon and i thin it myself then mix the color i want + the initial cost is higher since it involves the price of the sprayer of course. plus this dip is addicting, once you start you wont stop LOL the more you do it the easier and better job you'll do and before you know it you will be dipping everything you can get your hands on so there is no exact number really. if you are interested i can tell the breakdown and you can figure out depending on what you wanna do?

ok here it goes:

1- plasti dip glossifier with fade protection, a bit more expensive but its worth it especially with dark colors and plenty of sun - $71/gallon
http://www.awarehousefull.com/plasti...an-glossifier/

2- plasti dip UV, the same implies here but this is the non-glossy rubber - $69/gallon
http://www.awarehousefull.com/plasti...se-you-colors/

3- Paint thinner i use 40% thinner 60% plasti dip mixture - $13/gallon
http://www.lowes.com/pd_206531-34228...ductId=3024053

4- HVLP paint sprayer, you can go as fancy as you want with those, i bought the one that got the job done... one tip her is to clean the crap out of it after you're done using it every time - $55
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Wagner-041...rayer/14895587

5- Pearls or pigment or micro flakes. i used candy pearls so far, with the black i bought clear dip and i thinned it then mixed 50/50 glossifier and rubber and added the pearls, but i learned my lesson and with the white i bought white rubber and sprayed the car then i used a gallon of clear glossifier with the pearls mixed in it for the last 2-coats. price - $10/bag
https://www.dipyourcar.com/Candy-Pearls/

5- stuff around the house like a bucket to mix the dip in, blue tape and bunch of paper and plastic bags to cover wheels and windows.

6- paint mixer, i use it at the end an electric drill. price - $8
http://www.lowes.com/pd_176765-51872...xer&facetInfo=

7- Paint mask/respirator $32
http://www.lowes.com/pd_69598-98-R62...ask&facetInfo=

8- time which is the hardest to come by LOL. between masking, spraying and cleaning up its about 4-6 hrs!

9- a buddy or two to help you out and enjoy the results with afterward - $priceless.

10- simple green, its awsome to keep ur car clean, i use it when the plasti dip start having streaks and dirt stuck deep into it when i dont wash the car often and there's s**tload of dirt or even salt after snow and cold temps, just spray and let set for a min. usually i spray it at home and drive to the carsh wash and its like magic $9/gallon
