New from GA
New from GA
Savannah, GA.
Just bought a super well kept '03 G35 sedan two weeks ago. Previous owner is a close friend and worshiped this car and did a flawless job maintaining it since '03 when they bought it new. She bought herself a new G37s. She loves the 35 still though, yesterday she traded cars with me for the day because she missed her old one. I didn't complain, lol.
Ivory pearl, led spoiler, full premium feature package, Metra double din with a Pioneer 7' HU. She literally had all the maintenance paper work since purchase, all done at the local Infiniti shop!
Only two weeks and I have ideas for days with what I want to do. Already swapped all the interior lights, except the orange dash lights
with 6000k led to match the HIDs. Tag, Reverse, Hi beam, and Fog LEDs are on their way. I'm a former installer so my audio system plan is a full 7 speaker replacement, all amp'd, shooting for maximum performance with 100% stealth appearance. Want to throw some dynamat in a few spots. Will be replacing engine, trans, alt, and battery ground wires with 4 gauge wire, which will help sound and engine performance. Still spec'n how I'm going to pull it all off without breaking the register. There are a few interior details that I want to either restore or alter (all very minor).
I have already scheduled to get front end bushings replaced (slight knock at low speed), and oil cooler O-ring replaced at the infiniti shop in town. As far as performance goes, its a 5AT so I don't think I'm going to go nuts as it already is fast enough for my liking but we definitely want to do some small stuff.
Really excited when I found this site, this is my first car that has had a "following" and its awesome to see such a robust owners community out there.
Anybody from the Savannah area on here?

Welcome to G35 Driver!
It's great being able to find a G that's been taken care of like this one. One thing that jumped out at me was the gas door, look like someone couldn't get it open and beat on it! I'm sure this sedan will give you many more miles of enjoyable driving...enjoy!

The car only has 140k miles on it so I am sure I will be getting plenty of usage out of it for a while. First thing I did when I got the car was get on a service schedule with the infiniti shop to keep it from having any major issues.
Lol! Very true Scragglerock.
Your new mods list is much like mine, except a true audio enthusiast wouldn't use ultra thick dynamat
. Consider a cheaper alternative that still did the job.

Wow! An 03 G, what a great car! I was working At Orr Infiniti as Parts Manager when these bad boys came out. They forced out the old G20, J30, I35, and Q45. When we first started getting the G on the lot, I was hooked! You bought the one of the best cars out there. If you are you like me, you'll never look at another brand/make of vehicle again. Enjoy that beautiful G!

**Updated pics coming as soon as the rain clears out.
Neck deep in my first round of modifications. Some wins, some losses.
I fixed the gas tank door over closure issue. cork coaster and electircal tape made for a 2 minute fix that works perfectly.
Making a custom piece and installing a 7" 4G android tablet in the Metra dash kit's top storage pocket space and its coming out better than I had envisioned. The tablet is a third the price of a top tier head unit and far more versitle. It will be the media/nav/data hub for my setup. Bluetooth paired with the head unit. The current double din pioneer is going to be replaced with a single din head unit (model tbd), two 7" screens would look ostentatious IMO . I plasti-dipped the dash kit and center console matte black to blend the tablet mount mod I am making. The final finish is tbd but at least for my trial and error phase it will keep everything from installation marring.
Any suggestions on repairing the clock bezel trim? I am going to get a new one in the end but for the time being while i'm working on the whole dash I just want to make due with a aesthetic repair It cracked several in places during removal despite my best efforts. Including two of the clips breaking clean from the back of the trim. 12 year old brittle plastic couldn't withstand the pressure to unclip the piece. hairline cracks on the face. I've got some clear Gorilla glue to mend it and could plasti dip it to just to hide the lines until I get a replacement piece. Took the amber cap off of the clock lights while i was in there, minimal effect but better. How do I to replace the light in the upper glove box compartment? It stumped me but I didn't obsess over it with all the other things i had going. Bulb type? I will be looking for cool white solutions when I get back around to interior lighting. That beast of a project (swapping amber dash, HVAC, buttons) will be its own whole phase.
Ran new USB power port to the center arm rest for charging, along with a 3.5mm aux cable for friends who want to plug up some music. Ran 0/1 amp power line just for when i get to the audio installs, just saving myself some time later.
the car is going in the shop tomorrow to replace an O-ring that leaking oil. I'm sure the Infiniti guy is going to love me bringing it in with the dash kit removed, haha,
Long post I know, any wisdom y'all can share would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics soon.
