A kit itself is $10k and you have no idea on who i know and what they are capable of. So admin delete this post so i do not have to listen to these people.

You have made it abundantly clear what little you know and the great amount you dont know. No a kit itself is not 10k. There are tons of different kits and tons of different support mods. There is no set number. Used vortech and support mods, I could easily install for around 6k total. HKS with full support mods and Fcon can easily run 15k. The momentum tuner kit was only around 5k. Treadstone basic is only around 4.5k. I think the STS kit was only around 2.5k. Plus there is always the used market. Again you have no clue what youre talking about. You obviously did zero research and came here expecting to be spoon fed.

Yes we know, you want a boost kit without a fully rebuild motor. You also want a lawaway buying program. Maybe you should thinking about buying a Civic or Scion instead?

I came to a infiniti forums to get answers and you crucify me. I have done my fair share of reading and searching. Gone to the speed shops and etc. I know what im looking for and obviously you dont want to help. I know our blocks have to be rebuilt completely to withstand more then 12lbs. I know there are kits for $5k. That however is a supercharger i dont want a supercharger i want TTs. And on a single induction system it can be done. So now back the *** off the thread if you dont have anything to actually contribute to my success

You dont rebuild a block, you sleeve a block and rebuild a motor. Also a VQ35 can handle 12-15psi with a really good tune. It has been done many times. What is a single induction system? You mean single turbo forced induction? Why do you want TTs? Do you ever have a clue the difference?

You can't even get basic terminology correct, yet you expect us to believe you know what youre talking about?

You said you cant even afford a FI kit. So you obviously will never be able to afford a built motor.

If you take a stock VQ, put forged internals in it (pistons, connecting rods), deck the block, add darton sleeves in the combustion chambers, port and polish the heads with a 5 angle valve job, .275 intake and exhaust cams, add headers, plenum spacer, and all the other necessary goodies that a built motor needs. Button it all up with ARP studs to keep it all together along with a better cooling system and a good tune. A built motor will put out more horsepower than a stock motor ever will. Thats basic math. You don't bulid a motor so that it puts out the same horsepower as a stock motor, if thats the case what's the since in building it.

Too bad I can't see the original post but this sounds like a dreamer thread. Curious, what was the budget here?

You dont build a low compression motor to make power, you build it to handle more power. If you lower the compression ratio, you loose power. That is basic math. The only way a built short block will ever make more power than stock is if you raise the compression or displacement. Since OP was talking about a "boost kit" he obviously wouldnt be building a high compression NA build. So youre statement is semi wrong. Yes headwork, support mods and tune can add power, just as they can to a stock engine. Very few people do headwork on the VQ, as it is expensive and nets modest gains. 3-4 years ago a 350z guy installed the GTM stage 3 heads with Tomei cams on his aps twin turbo build. Ran about ~7k and netted 45hp gain. Since OP cant even afford a basic turbo kit, really didnt entertain the ludicrous idea of him dropping 7k on headwork.

Again, the entire purpose of building a low compression motor is to handle more psi, not to make more power. Yes in the end it will make more power, but that is due to larger turbos and higher psi, not the motor internals. OP is a noob and gets a pass, but you dont have an excuse.

Original post, OP basically said he can't afford a kit, so he wanted a shopping list of all the parts necessary so he could piece a kit together over time.
