Long time Nissan, first time G35X

Hey, whats up, hello

I'm Jacob. I'm from Springfield, MO and I just purchased a 2005 Ivory Pearl G35X. As far as I know, it has every option but navigation. I'm very happy with the car!

A little car history of mine...

Started out at 16 with a 2002 dodge neon (lol)
Ended up putting a rice pipe on it and selling it my senior year

Next was a 2004 V6 5 speed mustang. Very clean car, but after a cat back it sounded awful and I wanted something faster.

Now we come to my first Nissan and really where I began learning about cars. Unfortunately I learned this through many mistakes. 1995 240sx with a 5 speed KA24DE. Pulled the motor and rebuilt it for boost. Decided I didn't want to daily something like this and sold it.

2002 Mustang GT. Loved this car. It was lowered on 17's, big tires, 2004 cobra bumper, full exhaust, tune. Wasn't super fast but it sounded awesome and was fun.

Got too many tickets so I got a 1997 Grand Cherokee. Tons of fun in this with camping, mudding, offroading, and driving in the snow. Bought it stock and did a lift kit with 32" tires. Have a set of 33's in the garage with a higher lift but my o2 sensor shorted and blew my PCM. I am required to have a car for work (Can't be dropped off at work) so I bit the bullet and bought my G35.

While I owned the jeep I also bought and owned a 1995 240sx with a notch top SR20DET. Car was stock other than the motor and it was barely running when I got it. Fixed all it's problems and did a cold air intake, HKS waste gate actuator with boost turned to 15 psi, HKS coilovers, 5 Zigen test pipe, custom built 3.5" straight pipe built buy 417 motorsports (crusty nova), CX Racing FMIC, and various accessories. Sold it because I didn't have time to drive it anymore.

Now to the thing you're actually here for. 2005 Pear G35X. Completely stock. 103K. Every option but nav. Once I fix and sell the jeep there will be tasteful modifications to come.

Last picture has the Geo Storm GSI I had to drive for a couple days while the jeep was down lol.

Other car things I've worked on... 16G 4G63 rebuild, cammed ls1, n2o sbf 302 e36 m3, and so on

Sorry for the long winded thread. I may have gotten carried away. I'm glad to be back in a Nissan and in the G35 family though!

Incase anyones interested in the turbo 240...

The 240 was actually sold a few months ago and the jeep will be sold as soon as it's fixed. I don't really have a need for two vehicles anymore.

Hoping to lower the G35 soon and put some wheel spacers on. Researching different intakes. Probably going with the Z Tube for right now.

This is where I would politely disagree: 1 vehicle for on-road hooliganism, and 1 vehicle for off-road hooliganism. You've already had a taste of the off-roading world. You'll miss it, mark my words.

I miss my XJ...until I get into my G35x and the insane difference in quality/fit/finish makes that feeling go away instantly.

You don't drive a 4x4 for the quality/fit/finish.... Let's see your G35x go through a mud hole, climb up a rock trail, drive through forest fire roads, or cross a creek...

Thanks for that information, Captain Obvious! I never realized that.

For the record, my 1995 Toyota Pickup (22RE, 5 speed, 4x4) had superior fit and finish to my 2000 XJ - so you CAN get a little of both, if you spend the money.

I'll miss it for sure I've had a lot of fun destroying that thing off road and it's always been super reliable until the o2 sensor pig tail fell onto the driveshaft.

Hey mine's a ZJ Laredo so it has "leather" and "wood" interior haha. But then it'll also climb over anything I need it to. Well, it did...

You mentioned it

If I was looking for both 4x4 and quality fit/finish, I'd go get a Defender. Sadly I cannot afford one

Heck I can't even afford to go 4x4 even though I have an original owner 174k mile 2000 Jeep Cherokee

Welcome on board, Jacob! Great to have you here. Your collection is impressive, thanks for showing it to us. What exactly are you planning on your G35? A lot of good info here regarding mods in case you are thinking of doing any. Check out some of the garages and you may get some ideas. Good luck and keep us updated!

Thank you!

Plans are to lower with the H&R springs, 19" wheels, wheel spacers, 350z track pack brembos, z tube, roof spoiler, and possibly a cat back exhaust.

I don't see a point in doing too much to it other than that because far down the road I would like to single turbo and air bag suspension.

Thank you!

List of things I've ordered that should be here Monday:
Natural white LED's for the interior and door courtesy lights
Z tube
Apexi air filter
Tow hook cover

I have a set of 1" spacers left over from my turbo 240sx and I'll be ordering 350z H&R springs once I get back from my friends wedding in Michigan next week. He owns the shop Strictly Performance Motorsports. If you live up there you should definitely check them out.

I have a K&N drop in filter, and z-tube that just showed up today...after that, I'll put in the motordyne isothermal spacer....after that I'll probably just hang tight until the spring, at which point I'll need to buy new summer rubber, and I will probably pick up an exhaust as well. Bummer man, I live in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, otherwise I would definitely check that shop out. Do you know any good shops in the Twin Cities area?
