Another Newbie Here

Was in the market for a work/commuter car, nothing too fancy, and happened upon an 04 Garnet Fire premium sedan with 164 K on the odo.
Pretty rare car in my neck of the woods but after some research of this site I felt it was a good deal and appeared to be very mechanically sound (took it on two pretty aggressive test drives ).

It was in the same family for the last 9 years of its life, so I had some good history on it as well. My brother had owned a couple Infiniti's over the years too, so he had some good info for me as well.

The car is what I call a '50 footer' - as in it looks great from 50 ft away! It has a very bad case of clear peel, basically the entire top/hood/trunk lid. If it holds up mechanically I plan on repainting those areas (rest of car paint is very clean).

Interior is nice and clean minus the usual passenger seat cushion split and the top glove box pull-away issue. Armrest was torn as well, but just replaced that with one from a wrecked 05.

I am enamored with the beautiful balance of ride/handling/power this thing still has after 12 years and that many miles. I've already put over 3k miles on it in the first two months of owning it. Had to make an emergency 1800 mile trip a month after buying it and thought 'what the hell - there's a great test for it!' Liked the idea of driving it over my family hauler minivan, and it handled the trip beautifully. Hasn't even burned any oil.

Anyhow, this site is an awesome resource for a shade tree mechanic like myself and I'm glad to be a part of it.

Looks sweet from this angle 😁
