thanks!! The candidates are g8, G, or ctsv. G's are lower power, but also a bit lighter, and seem more reliable. any input is appreciated.

Looks alone G8 is gone. Performance wise no contest CTSV. Reliability G35. Cost savings wise G35. Panty dropper wise CTSV/G35 tie. Cool exhaust wise CTSV/G8. Aftermarket support G8>G35>CTSV. Sexy to women wise G35. Sexy to men wise CTSV. Sexy to transgender wise G8.

You are not comparing comparable cars. Why don't you let everyone know what you are looking for in a car and maybe then someone can help you decide.

awesome post, thanks! I like non depreciating cars, and the M6 g8 is that, but you are right on the looks. SS is bland, but will prob never be worth < 30k, and more than i want to spend.

Essentially i'm looking for somewhere near a 10:1 weightower, manual, rwd, and will last a long time and hold value.

While I can appreciate those things as well if all you are looking at is a RWD car that holds it's value then it looks like you have already done your research on it being the G8. Those are great cars from what I hear (neighbor ownes one) but you do know you are asking an infiniti forum what is the best car.....lol

I have owned Chevy, Nissan, Ford, Toyota, Jeep, READ, FWD, Camaro, mustang, evolution, 8cyl, 6cyl, 4cyl, 400hp, 120hp etc....

In all my car whoring my ultimate fav car was and still is the 350z. I wanted to look like I had a little more class (we all know I don't have) so I got the 350z with chrome and leather G35.

I have found no better car that offered everything when I needed it. All around it's my favorite car to date.

It's all based on what you like. Take all of them for test drives two or three times under different conditions and you will know your answer. It's more than market value, looks, RWD for me.....I have to love driving it....

6 sp manual G8 has to be the GXP version. Which are commanding well over $25,000 for a decently lower mile version.

The G35/350z's engine mod potential sucks. NA power potential for the GXP is world's better than the G35/350z

^^^^when did he mention he was interested in power potential?

All of these cars cant realistically be compared as equal at any level. All different cost points, powerplants etc...

Also realibility is suspect. Since the thin piston rings lead to oil consumption.

The LS powerplants are pretty reliable. The GXP doesn't have the displacement on demand lifters that tend to go out.

I have a G8GT and love it. And had the G35 sedan in my sig

^^^^Agreed. I had an 02 Camaro LS1 and beat the hell out of that thing with zero issues.

Boltons were dirt cheap and that engine came alive with very few add ons.

right, the gxp's hold their value better than gold lol. not sure my wife will approve the looks. I suspect SS M6 will hold as well. I basically have a non forced induction out of warranty rule, so looking for the power right out of the gate. thanks for the input!
