Need help with tick asap!
Hello everyone, I'm a dumbass (i did not change oil when I bought the car) and bought a car a little while ago, 2006 g35. The guy said he changed the oil but not actually so i starved the lifters of oil and now I have a lifter tick. The shop said it was okay to drive and when it seizes take it in to have it fixed but it scares me driving with it. Do you think I'll be fine? Thanks!

I'll never understand how/why people buy used cars without having them checked out, either by a mechanic or the buyer. But what's done is done so I second cleric's advice: fill it properly and continue to monitor/check the oil for proper level and condition. And OP in the future you now know what not to do right? GL
These cars have fairly loud valves anyhow, so if you're using synthetic it's just gonna be worse. Try switching to conventional (the fsm recommends it anyway due to valve clearances) 10w40 or even 20w50 if you're in a warm enough climate like the southwest. It's probably not that big of a deal, as these cars have had this issue for quite some time.

Not changing oil causes a buildup of sludge that will eventually cause engine failure.
If you are scared to drive it, sell it while its still running and find another vehicle.
An Infiniti dealer can run a VIN number and give you a vehicle service history.

Nahh, you can switch back and forth all you want, the whole "once you go synth you can never go back" is a complete myth. The only truth is if you need to top the crankcase off you should only use the same type for the top off.
Correct. That's why we can use syn blends.
