After 8-9 months of wait, my younger sister finally bought a new car, which meant we finalized the sale of her '08 G35X to me. She mentioned selling it 12 months ago but only started "looking" around June. At that point, knowing they took good care of the car not to mention I KNOW who owned it, I ended really being set on buying it. Doesn't hurt that it's a nice-looking car, the engine is quite fun compared to my Accord 2.3L 4-cylinder, and so on. Even my wife gets a grin when she stomps on it (though she asks "why is it so loud" - she drives a 1.5L Ecoboost Ford Fusion).
It has new tires (purchased just a few thousand miles ago, before winter), all service records from their local Infiniti dealer, and so on. I don't intend to customize it - I'm too old for that stuff ! - other than maybe the "tail as turn light" module and swapping the interior lights*. There's also a few rock chips in the paint that I'd like to fix. There is some rust on them so I know I can't just go over them with touch-up paint. I'll enlist my son-in-law's help there.... Otherwise, I'd just want to maintain it as well as possible. It's at ~3000 miles since the last oil change so I'll double-check what oil was used - if synthetic or a blend, I'll not be in a hurry for 1000 miles or so but if regular oil, I'll do it sooner. Fram Ultra filters well liked around here ? The ATF was D/F around 60k and the car is at 107k now so I will do that soon as well. I know ATF is a sacred topic in all forums so I'll be careful with this one.
* I've seen LEDs that are a 'cool blue' color - I'll check more in the "Interior..." sub-forum but would that be a 5000K or 6500K color ?
Nice clean looking car, congrats on the purchase. This chart is pretty accurate for what color different K lights are, personally I like 5000 for driving but 5800 looks cooler
Just double-checked and the vendor calls them "Cool white" which corresponds to 7000-7500k and definitely has a 'blue' to it. In the car, it could be partly affected by the light covers but they're definitely a light blue. Even our 8-year old noticed them immediately when she got in the car last night (first time at night for her after I changed them).
