'03 G35 Sedan 6MT - LS Swapped
Thumbs up 2003 G35 Sedan with 6.0L LS - Intro

Hi, my name's Scott and I wanted to introduce myself and my car. I've had a '03 sedan 6MT for a few years now (mostly stock) and last Sept I swapped it with a LS at LS Fest 2018. We did it in the parking lot in my buddy's booth (LOJ Conversions). Below is a pic of the car and some links to a start-up and a write-up we had on the LSX website.

Anyway, the engine is a 6.0L L77 out of a '15 Chevy Caprice PPV (police pursuit vehicle). I'm running all LOJ parts with a custom 3" exhaust. It's got a LS9 cam and valve springs, displacement on demand delete, and LOJ headers made by Kooks. That's pretty much it and mated to a stock CD00A trans.

Car ran great but after a month I developed a bit of rod knock and lots of metal in the oil (**** happens with a junkyard engine). It still runs but it's been sitting til I have the time to tear into it and see what the deal is - don't want to totally grenade the motor. That's where I'm at now - hopefully have it back on the road in the next few months.

Thanks for the share! What a random conversion, out of a caprice. Sad to hear the fleet engine didn't work out... good luck with locating the problem.

Having owned an 05 G sedan 5AT and an 06 GTO M6 may I say great job!! Sorry to hear about the engine troubles and I hope you have the beast back on the road soon. I lost my GTO last month to flood damage but found a suitable replacement, a 2010 Lincoln MKS Ecoboost in mint condition with less than 100K miles. Installed an Airaid on her last week, changed my plugs to a step colder than stock and used a SCT X4 tuner to download several custom tunes today. I'm currently flashed on the 93 octane performance tune written for my MKS from Unleashed and holy mother of God, my 4200# beast hauls some serious azz now. It feels every bit as fast as the Goat was...…...
