Deals coming with intro of G37 Sedan?

With both the end of model year and the upcoming change-over to the G37 (nice, but would rather save $'s than go for the G37), when's the best time to look to deal on either a purchase or lease G35?

I already have VPP through Mid july - want to take advantage of the calendar, no rush to purchase.

Thanks!
Chip

VPP is worthless. You can get a better deal if you don't mention it. Not to mention there will be no G37 sedan...in the USA.

Would you mind expanding on what kind of deal I should expect (better than VPP)?
Also, what about timing? Is end of June a good time to try to land or wait til august for end of model year?
Lastly - are the lease promos negotiable? never did a lease and not sure how to get the best deal.
Thanks!
Chip

If you have never done a lease deal before then READ UP ON THEM! There are a million different tricks they will do to try to screw you. Heck I have read just about everything I could find about them and I still could not get a good deal because I was not patient.

Bottom line: If you don’t know what “MF”, Residual, Cap cost reduction, Security Deposits, and Invoice price are, then don’t lease the car!

How do you figure invoice $ - VPP discount - any applicable incentives = 'worthless'...?

VPP ends up being almost 3% over invoice. Read the entire VPP documents and how the price is figured. You can haggle your way to a better price than VPP, I did. And currently, there are no incentives on the G35 sedan.

I will restate what I just typed yesterday. There will be NO G37 SEDAN in 2009 in the USA! There will be a G35 sedan, possibly with the 7 speed auto.

I don't know how you kids do things over there, but my VPP price was still BELOW invoice...plus applicable incentives at the time I purchased. I never meant to imply that there were any current incentives on the G35 Sedan. Then again, we pay about $10,000 more for our G's than you lucky buggers, so I still took it in the a** anyway...happy?

From http://www.insidenissan.com/vpp/nissan/offer.html

For NNA and affiliate employee sponsored friends and extended family members, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

C PLAN
Dealer invoice
Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
Plus destination and handling charge
Minus applicable incentives
Equals participant's purchase price

Well, that explains it (for my case, anyway) - I wasn't a C PLAN...

Yeah, if you work for Nissan then A or B plan is okay. For most, C plan is more likely the case.

Back to the G37 sedan, why would Infiniti have an '09 FX35 but make an 09 G37 sedan?

I don't know - maybe because the '09 FX35 went into production first, and they had some spare engines and badges to unload?

It really IS all just speculation right now, so what do I know? Maybe we should avoid definitive statements...

09 fx35 exists because nissan is trying to increase the performance gap between the fx35 and the fx50. fx37 would be too close to fx50. now the hp difference is quite a bit more compared to fx35 vs fx45 from previous gen.

Wow - what a wrong prediction....

http://www.autospies.com/news/2009-I...-Leaked-30620/

Now what - assuming I'm not interested in the G37, any strategies for getting the lowest possible price on the end of model year / end of model inventory?
