Hello! I need to chat with someone else who has put a 350z JDM motor into a G35
I've done a VQ35DE swap on my 2005 G35 Base Sedan (3.5L V6, RWD) with a VQ35DE JDM motor from Japan with 44k miles. It has bank A and bank B VVTI replaced with G35 VVTI solenoid's. I have a brand new stock G35 fuel pump. I have headers with mahle OE Spec gaskets, high flow down pipes by MeaghanRacingCo. with anti-reverb O2 sensor trickers, a Y pipe by MeaghanRacingCo. 3 inch stainless mid-pipe with resonator, 3 inch stainless flow master muffler. Car also has a cold air intake.
The car starts and runs but is currently backfiring once every revolution of the crank. I have unhooked the mid-pipe to see if I was getting any gyration, but it's still backfiring.
Does anyone have the map for these mods to the car for the bully dog gt programmer?
Bully dog reads ECU EO#: D-512-7
Part# for bully dog GT: 40410
Also, I want to increase the rev limited to 7500 and the top speed on the car I want to increase to 180mph.
I'm in a jam for time so I am willing to pay for it if someone has already done this and can get this car road trip ready asap so I can go see my dad who's sick in Washington.
Thanks in advance for any help I appreciate it. Out with the old 2005 JDM VQ35DE, 44,000 miles In with the new
First things first, the original and donor engines were NOT the rev-up motor correct? I know the one in the photo is not a rev-up but you did an exact replacement yes?
I would swap over the old cam/crank sensors and see if that helps. Since the sensors are so notorious for failing you might as well swap to a known good pair.
Is it BACKFIRING or is it just MISSING ? Swap the old coil packs over and see if that fixes anything. If it's actually backfiring then you definitely have a timing issue.
Either way you need to do a compression test to see what's actually going on inside that motor.
