Question about sensors

Does an O2 sensor effect any performance on a 2008 G35x sedan? It’s bank 1 sensor 1 if so what could happen if not fixed for a while etc?

You can destroy your motor with a bad upstream O2 sensor. That's how the engine makes fuel trim adjustments, sensor1 is the air/fuel sensor.

Exactly what code is the car throwing?
