I think its like 4 bolts from underneath, and the whole thing slides out.

I remember it being harder than that. I followed a DIY I found somewhere on here. Do a search and you'll find it. I got confused about one of the screws or bolts and removed the wrong thing and the trim piece that was supposed to come out wouldn't and i ended up bending something. It probably shouldn't have been as difficult as it was for me. But it didn't just pop out. It was enough of a hassle that I haven't taken it out again to correct my fuel gauge needle position even though it bugs the hell out of me for it to read a 1/4 tank high all the time (light comes on correctly though).

Are you repairing your cluster yourself or sending it out?

Thanks for the info, my plan was to send it out.

My Guage indicates always Empty, my understanding is that this is a common issue with this cluster?

I've been looking for any shop manual that gives instructions for it removal and so far no luck.
The repair company says it's a 5 min job to remove the cluster and that the vehicle would still be completely drivable while the cluster is out, so I'm researching to find out more on this.

I don't recall the symptom of always reads empty being a common symptom but it could be. The big one I hear about is reading correctly when full but never reads lower than half tank. This is what mine did. There is a long thread about fuel gauge problems you might want to read through before doing the work to remove your cluster and paying someone to work on it. This thread helped me fix mine myself.

There are easy (and free) things to check first. You may end up doing the cluster anyway. But I always like to start with the cheap and easy things to check. There are stories from people in that thread guessing at what the problem is and throwing parts at it and they end up unhappy when the problem isn't fixed. If you debug the problem systematically, you increase the likelihood that you're going to solve your problem with the first fix you attempt. Unfortunately, there are several things that can cause problems and if you were to replace them all blindly, you could spend a lot of money and waste a lot of time.

I drove my car around without the gauge cluster for a little bit. No issues. It did trip a check engine light when I put it back on though. I forgot what the code was but u can clear it and it’ll be gone.

Thanks for the "ok without cluster"

Thanks for the response on this, I'm still doing research to see if I can narrow down the issue before spending money!
So far the responses I'm getting are very helpful!!!
