cold air with heater running 04 g35
There are also other reasons why a normally functioning AC controller and damper box would deliver cold air to the driver side only, (only if it's in dual climate mode though). There is a temperature sensor on the dash on the driver side, it's right about where your right knee is. There is a little "vent" about the size of a quarter that has a temp duct sensor, if that sensor fails and is saying the driver side is 175 degrees F it will always try to cool down the driver side.
This would only affect function in dual climate mode though, if you have driver/passenger sides locked it will not independently control the temp selector.
If you can't figure out the issue I would take the car down to Nissan/Infiniti for a 1 hour diagnostic, they can plug in their Consult-II/III dealership tool to run an even more comprehensive diagnostic and will have the EXACT ROOT ISSUE discovered in about 15 minutes, it's going to cost you a 1 hour diagnostic minimum charge though.

I'm having this exact issue with my 2004 g35 coupe also
Was there ever a resolution to this? Sara, did you take it in? What was the cause/fix for it?
I have tried looking for others with this problem but it doesn't appear to be very common.

Are u also only getting cold air only on one side of the car?
Well, for me if i run the heater, only the passenger side gets warm and the driver side stays cool. If i run the AC, only the passenger side is cold while drivers side stays warm.
Also, I'd like to note we have checked the obvious [ie verified the heat controller is in dual mode, not driver/passenger independent, verified the vents are open, it also seems to me the proper amount of air is being pushed through the vent]

That's what I was thinking. And at this age, all the little foam seals at the doors are becoming brittle. Occasionally I'll get some blowing out...little black foam bits.
