06 g35 coupe help
I recently bought my 2006 automatic g35 coupe de re did the full suspension swapped the motor for a newer de I have a muffler delete x pipe the car has no mods recently ordered a high flow intake looking for help on what power mods will do the car best but not trying to break the bank considering work I’ve already put in to it any help would be great ??
You most likely will not like my response but here is something to keep in mind when spending lots of money on a fifteen year old vehicle.
If your vehicle was totaled in an accident no matter whose fault it was how much would your insurance company pay out?
If you are not fully insured for the full replacement cost of all the items you have on your vehicle you are at risk to your financial health.
Enjoy your ride.

Unfortunately with DE G35s (First Gen 03-07 Coupe/ 03-06 Sedan) Power is limited to Breathing mods, Grounding Kit(more butt dyno) and lightening the car (lighter pullies...on the simple end to stripping the interior to save weight on the extreme end).
These engines came pretty maxed out from the Factory.
All real power comes in the form of Forced Induction or FI (turbo and super chargers).
You mentioned not trying to break the bank so I won't expand too much on what this path offers you. (Check out the Forced Induction Section) Just know there are several options available BUT with this motor...you'll have to do it right which means building it(Rods/pistons/studs), proper FI support mods and a tune. All of which can be very costly
Honestly, the first gen is more of a drive around, look and sound cool car.
If that's your goal, you can achieve this on a budget.
IF you want power...upgrade to a 2nd Gen G model (G35/G37).
That platform not only offered more power out the box AND responded better to FI since the HR/VHR motors were built better and Nissan learned from their mistakes RE: the DE engine.
Again... if you REALLY want power, you gotta do it right regardless which direction you end up going in.

High flow cats, 5/16th plenum spacer, tune.
Not sure how big your bank is so it may or may not break but those are the biggest gains, don't get the tune until you have all your other mods done.
The HFC obviously pairs better with a free flowing dual exhaust, the cheapest "less obnoxious" option is HKS replica exhaust with some better resonators. Any good exhaust is going to set you back over a grand, check with your local muffler shops to see what they can do for you it's a LOT cheaper than buying a name brand setup.
