2004 G35 stock. Looking for advice on what to do first.
New to the forum. Just bought a dead stock g35 with 150,000 miles. Needs some cosmetic work. Would like some advice on what I should customize or fix first.
Welcome to the forums, as for your question it sort of depends on what your plans are for the vehicle. Typically I recommend fixing EVERYTHING that's deficient on the vehicle before doing any mods. 150k most of the stock bushings are shot, entire front end suspension, some rear suspension components. Rear differential bushing is guaranteed to be blown out (was probably toast at 100k), fluid changes for all systems, touch up paint or respray as needed, your headlights are starting to oxidize so polish and spray with 2k clear.
Wheels look plasti-dipped so I would fix that.
Then move to the interior and do the same, fix everything, driver seat bolster is probably pretty thrashed so find a local upholstery shop to fix.
Once everything is up to par again then throw a 5/16 plenum spacer on and call it good unless you have other performance mods to do.
Depending on how far you want to go on the suspension, if you want just a very slight drop the 350Z revised springs, Z1 Motorsports camber kit, and 15mm front 25mm rear wheel spacers look really good and only require minor rolling of the front fenders, shave 3/8" off the rear spring top perch bumper to match the front without rubbing or just leave as is for slightly more clearance.
This gives a very driveable stance without too much headache about speedbumps and parking lot entrances, a little more power, and a very clean looking car. Always a great place to start.
Also, there are literally THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of threads here on G35DRIVER about practically every topic relating to the G. Spend some time browsing the forums and you can always add "G35DRIVER.COM" into your search engine along with your question to pull up more specific threads.
