The gear selector is stuck and won’t go into gear. Even if I use the shift lock key. I threw my phone to the passenger side and it hit the gear selector while driving and jammed it in the position it’s in now. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to correct this problem. As far as the part name and the actual name for the part I need. I’m in a 03 g35 base with leather

 

Take apart the center console around the shifter and look inside to see what you broke. Nothing we can really diagnose over the internet.

My gut feeling is it's just that black corrugated plastic "cover thing" around the moving parts of the shifter. I'll circle it, probably got lodged at a weird angle and should be easy to fix.
