I couldn’t put her through another Northeast winter
Just got her today. 2008 G35x 5AT. 129,000 miles. Deceptively fast 👍 Great steering feel, progressive onslaught of power ala the N/A V6. Fully stock. As an enthusiast, I’m so glad I didn’t go for the obligatory/boring SUV
yeah that is a bit surprising.... pretty sure the Porsche pulls alot harder though
have always thought about / wanted to snag a 928, but manuals are getting so hard to find, and prices continue to go crazy... Keep it as a pipe dream for now

Go test drive a 987 Cayman/Boxter. They can still be had in the low $30k range. Mid-engine setup, sub 3000 lbs. Perfect drivers' car. Avoid the S models though. They have lots of engine problems. I had to get mine replaced with an awesome $$$$ upgrade.
Are there any preventative maintenance items/parts that I should be looking for at this 120,000+ mile point? It was just inspected and had its oil change done prior to purchase. What about coil packs, injectors, timing belts? The carfax report reveals only so much. I'm not mechanically inclined but a service station just opened up the street. I'll happily pay to keep this car running as best it can. I'll be doing oil changes every 6 months because I'm not putting a lot of miles on it (maybe 2000 miles/year). And here's a loaded question...what's the best brand of oil for our cars? Any input is appreciated!
No timing belt, it's a chain and it's technically rated for the life of the motor, no service interval.
I would replace the plugs, use the factory OEM recommended ones, wouldn't bother with injectors or coil packs. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank on the next fill up, change the air filters, clean the MAF with some MAF spray and call it good.

So get this, the dealer where I bought the car had it listed as Platinum Graphite. I bought a can of touch up paint and it’s definitely not a match. The car looks to be Blue Slate Pearl Metallic. How can I verify this? I’ve tried looking up the VIN but the color is not listed. What do you guys think it is?
I found it. It's Lakeshore Slate B30 code. I can't say that I'm upset but just bewildered how that can happen. I guess after 14 years records get lost.
Look at the Nissan label in the engine bay, that will have the actual color code listed on it.
It's a sticker near the passenger/right side strut tower. 3 digit alphanumeric.

Yes, thank you. It's K52 Blue Slate. What a soap opera....
A good recommendation any time you're using touch up paint is to always spray or apply the paint to a piece of cardboard first to make sure it's the correct color.
The aerosol can you got may have either been filled with the wrong color from the factory, or simply had the wrong label affixed.

What's the actual fuel cutoff/rev limiter on this 35HR? I was manu-shifting and because this engine is so smooth and quiet, didn't realize it was approaching 8000 with no hints of cutting off.
Only about 6 weeks remain until the car undergoes surgery at R/T Tuning in Montgomeryville, PA. Let me know if you think I'm leaving anything out that could be addressed. Engine/drivetrain/suspension is the focus although cosmetically, tint, headlight film, and hood wrap are getting done. Also H&R wheel spacers.
