Okay so, I was wondering since the cd009 bolts up to the g35 and obviously the 350z, and my g35, M35x, and armada 5.6 v8 all have the same RE5R05A 5 speed automatic transmission. Why wouldn’t the cd009 bolt up to the armada 5.6? Reason I’m asking is because I wanna 5.6 swap my g35 and they have the same transmissions now. Why do I need to pay 1k bucks for an adapter kit when the auto bolts up to the 3.5 and the 5.6 or are they different somehow? 500 hp RB25DET swapped 240 My daily driver M35x with 347k original miles 04 g sedan project cd009 swapped
The RE5R05A is the GEARBOX ONLY. The bellhousing is different for various applications.
The VQ35DE bellhousing is different than the VK56DE bellhousing.
The bellhousing to transmission bolt pattern is different for the AT and MT transmissions so you will not be able to use the VK bellhousing on the CD00#.
Call up Collins Performance in Bradenton, they used to make an adapter to mate the VK to either the CD00# or the JK40# (multiple bolt patterns on the adapter), and it was really cheap, like $300.
