Tire size!
If you have the akebono brakes (think they were equipped on the sport package cars) then I don't think 17s will clear those big calipers. Should be able to google search the answer though.
You know what, I can't remember if the "G35" on the V36 chassis even had the option of the akebonos. I know the "G37" on the same V36 chassis had them so you probably just have the same brakes as the 2005-2007 coupe / 2005-2006 sedan.
Just keep in mind that staggered tire size on the AWD vehicles you have to keep the EXACT same rolling circumference/diameter of the tire or the AWD will see one end travelling "slower" than the other and kick the traction control on.
You can stagger the width of the tire only, height MUST remain the same.
I'm not able to see the calipers inside the wheel there's too much shadow but it looks like it's a really tight fit already on the front.
If you DO have the earlier model / non-akebono calipers though then you can run the 17" wheels since that was an option on the 2008 G35X. 225/55 R17 was the stock size. You might be able to just pick up a set of factory wheels at a local pick-n-pull wrecking yard, or Craigslist / Facebook Marketplace.
