Newbie located!

Hi there,

This is my 06 coupe, 5AT. its fbo, lowered on BC racing, and I stole some oem front brembos off an 04. Otherwise, its got a few aesthetic mods, a double din, and my personal favorite, its shoes. I managed to get a pretty great deal on these TE37s this past summer off fb marketplace and I absolutely love the color/finish. Fitment isnt perfect (18x9,5 +35), but the deal was just to good. Might get spacers, might flip them in a year or so, I havent decided yet.

As for future plans, the list is endless of course. Highest priority is finding a set of rear brembos to complete the set and I'm gonna try the halo tail light mod. The next big project is the daunting task of making it manual. My auto trans seems to be making a funny noise lately (vibration at idle). I havent had the chance to properly investigate it yet, but something tells me the car just wants to be a stick haha.

I have been browsing this forum incognito for about a year now and I figured it was probably time to actually make an account. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this community :)

I like the color scheme especially the silver Brembos, personally I would keep the 5AT and just put in a TransGo shift kit. It's a whole different monster with one and overall feels really good to drive. Couple that with a factory VLSD if you don't already have one (check to see if your diff bushings are poly or rubber, if rubber then definitely upgrade that at the same time).

You need wheel spacers probably 15mm front, 25mm rear. BOLT ON ONLY, not slip on. You might end up needing 20mm front and 30mm rear though, just measure it out.

Window tint!

Might also consider rear taillight tint with the center cutouts, looks really good on the silver G. Same with the aftermarket rear tail lights that have blacked out sections around the main lights.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the reply, cleric!

The transgo kit is definitely an option that I am considering, but there is something about that third pedal.

Thanks for the other suggestions too. I really want tint don't get me wrong, but a lot of people get in trouble for it in my area so not sure about that one yet.

Just check your state regulation on window tint and don't exceed it if you live in an area where it's enforced.

It's not enforced in my area so I run 18% even though Washington State minimum VLT is 24%

So lucky. NC is 38%, and it's enforced here through the annual inspection program. Or if you are pulled over for "a broken tail light...."

Honestly I wish there were more cops around where I live to enforce laws, SO many people here drive with their brights on 100% of the time. Like literally 25% of all the people in this town.

I don't want to get too flamed about it but we have recently gained (since 2010) a SIGNIFICANT presence of folks recently immigrated to the US here and I think it's a cultural thing they brought over from their native country.

Taillights out everywhere, headlights out everywhere, too many people, not enough law enforcement, plus our actual CRIME is through the roof (10x explosion in homeless camps) in the last two years so they're all busy doing actual police work instead of handing out driving taxes.

Street racing is back too, doesn't help that the average speed-over-the-limit is now +10 rather than the usual +5 over that folks used to drive. On the other side of the state my brother said the average is now +15, literally if you aren't going +15 over the limit you're getting hard tailgated, brights flashed at you, and people passing you giving the 1 finger salute.

Washington State has really gone to **** in a lot of ways. But at least I don't have to worry about getting ticketed for cosmetic stuff like tinted windows, and they also abolished the emissions testing statewide 3 years ago so no worry about the test pipes when renewing your tabs yearly.
