running taillights not working 06 g35 coupe
My running taillights and license plate light simultaneously stopped working on my G, thought it was a blown fuse so I replaced the taillights fuse & all of the other blown fuses in the other fuse boxes and they still don’t work (no the fuse isn’t blowing when I start the car)… even tried a 15 and 20 amp fuse to see if it would temporarily work but nothing, is this a wiring issue? what are my options? I can’t keep only driving during the day lmao…
Double check fuse 71 in the IPDM, this powers an INTERNAL relay built onto the IPDM PCB.
Also pull one of the lamps and visually check to make sure it didn't just have a surge or something that simply blew out all those little lamps. Definitely not expecting this to be the issue but physically inspecting/testing some lamps is something you should check.
If the lamp filaments are good then it's probably the internal relay that failed, either source a new IPDM or you can ghetto fix it by unplugging the IPDM harness, cut the red/blue stripe wire, run couple of wires to the cabin and install a switch, then add a fuse holder to the positive battery terminal and basically make a new circuit that uses the switch to manually turn on the parking lights, if you took the power source from an ingnition ON source (like the cigarette lighter or power socket) then you could just have it turn on the parking lights anytime the key is ON without having to use a switch in the cabin.
EDIT: You could also disassemble the IPDM and see if you can just desolder the relay and source a replacement one.
