New member - been lurking forum 1+ years
Hi everyone,
I'm a new registered member. I've been lurking this forum for over a year since I got my 04 Auto Trans sedan.
You guys have tons of threads that have helped me throughout my recent ownership and diagnosing problems.
I have decided to register since I am currently having problems that haven't been discussed/solved on the forum and I'd like to ask questions to my problems I've been experiencing.

I actually posted it here on this forum in a separate post.
My last oil change was 1500 miles ago and the old oil had a strong gasoline smell. I checked my new(er) oil and it has the smell of gas as well.
There was another member that responded to my post saying that it could be since I mainly take very short drives in-town to run errands that my engine doesn't get up to running temperature to burn off the gas in my oil.

Hmm, 8 miles a day is pretty short. Maybe try idling for a few mins before driving? i dunno if that actually helps, but i've heard people mention it before.
I've never experienced gasoline smell in my oil before.
I've only had one other vehicle with a v6 and it was a 1999 4runner with no gas smell in the oil.
After that I had 4 bangers (1999 civic, 2002 accord, 2008 civic) and none of them had gas smell in the oil.
All of my driving habits are very similar with all the cars so I was really surprised when I experienced it with this 2004 G35.

I'll just live with it. Its a 20 year old car.
It drives fine and gets the EPA average MPG's ~19MPG city / 22-23 highway (with premium 100% gas 91 octane). Odometer just passed 190K and I'll drive it till it has a catastrophic breakdown or I save and get a different car.
I apprecaite your input, but at this point I'm pretty much done with this car, I'm not going to put much money, time, effort, to keep it in optimum best working order. I might even switch to E-10 89.
Just oil + filter changes and routine maintenence.
