G35 6mt throttle release lag high rpms
I have an 06 g35 6spd 78k miles and it drives and shifts great lower rpm’s but when I go around 4k+ and engage the clutch the rpm’s hang for a bit before beginning to drop resulting in some fairly rough shifts I believe this is decreasing my clutches life span having to compensate for this difference in rpm’s and waiting it out takes roughly 2 whole seconds to drop to proper shifting rpm’s which is a lifetime racing someone. I’m very open to suggestions and a diagnosis on this thang thanks gents. 🎩
The cars are programmed with 'rev hang' to reduce emissions, but 2 seconds is excessive. Might a sticky throttle body? That said, this will cause virtually zero wear on the clutch - clutch wear is 99% using the engine's rotating mass to get the car moving, and 1% using the cars momentum to change the engine speed (I made up those numbers, I am not a doctor).
PSA: Don't race on public roads, take it to the track. There are autocross, drift, and drag events all over the place - get involved, it's great!
