Clutch issue or transmission ruined?

Need help diagnosing

I bought a G 35 last night 300 miles from home. It was my first manual vehicle. I was actually doing really good and I’ve had some experience in the past but out of nowhere driving on the interstate in 6th I noticed when I’d give it gas and the rpm’s would jump pretty high but I’d barley speed up. Downshifted and same thing, shifted back into 6th same thing. And than no matter what lost all power despite the rpm’s jumping. There was definetly a smell and the car was delivered the rest of the way this morning by tow. I opened it up and looked around and the clutch fluid reservoir was very low. However, the pedal feels fine. It doesn’t stick. it has some resistance but nothing I can imagine to be out of the ordinary. I topped off the clutch fluid and it still won’t get into gear. it only has 128,000 miles. If I do put it into gear, I can drop the clutch in the car won’t install, but it won’t move either and now the power steering doesn’t work either. Can anyone help me figure out if it’s a clutch or something else?

Just from what you’re describing, it sounds like your clutch is smoked. But I’ve never seen one so bat that it won’t move at all in 1st gear. The fluid has nothing to do with the clutch grabbing, it would only be something to consider if the clutch wouldn’t release and/or the clutch pedal was soft or went to the floor. Unfortunately it sounds like you may have bought somebody’s problem vehicle. But it’s ok, a clutch isn’t too terrible of a thing to replace, and it’s a good learning experience. Bad part is that a decent clutch is expensive.

would it make sense for a clutch pedal to still feel okay if the clutch was toast?
